Here’s Jennifer Lawrence stepping out to do the media rounds to promote the final installment of ‘The Hunger Games’ franchise: ‘Mockingjay Part 2.’ I’m LOVING that coat. So chic! Jennifer has grown into her own, style-wise. Completing ‘The Hunger Games’ franchise is going to be a big change for her, but how did she win the part in the first place?
Jennifer competed against many young Hollywood actresses for the role, including Shailene Woodley, Hailee Steinfeld, Saoirse Ronan, Emma Roberts, Chloe Grace Moretz, Abigail Breslin, Elizabeth Olsen and Emily Browning. Goodness! Jennifer had some serious competition. Producer Nina Jacobson said this about Jennifer’s audition:
I teared up. We had a lot of wonderful actresses at the audition, but it was game over at that point.”
Whatever she did, it sounds like it was really moving!
Gary Ross, who directed the first ‘Hunger Games’ movie, said:
I got choked up. You only see that kind of talent once in a generation – that kind of intensity and emotional power. If you don’t find the right performer, you don’t have the movie. So I felt like, ‘Now I can make the movie.'”
Of course now it’s impossible to imagine anyone else as Katniss Everdeen, but I do think Jennifer does a great job in the role. Can’t wait to see ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2,’ and I’m already bracing myself for the ending. Are you looking forward to the movie?
