We’re told the hackers contacted the newly winged Victoria’s Secret Angel and threatened to release photos and videos accessed through her iCloud.
The hackers also threatened to sell the pictures to media outlets unless they got the money they were after.
We’re told Gigi has not and will not pay, and she’s contacted law enforcement and also hired a private security company to find the culprits. She wants them prosecuted.
I don’t blame her: talk about a horrible violation of privacy! And if she gives in now, then when will it stop? She could go broke making payouts like this. Just ask Charlie Sheen, who was forced to disclose very personal health information to stop the blackmailers. It’s SICK what people are willing to do for money.
I know celebs want to be just like everyone else, but honestly, if I were advising a member of “young Hollywood,” my key piece of advice would be: don’t take ANY pictures or videos that you don’t want getting out. Not everything has to be recorded on camera! The truth of the matter is that pretty much anything can be hacked if someone wants to get to the information badly enough. The only way I can see for someone to protect herself is to not have compromising stuff saved in a cloud or on your phone. Gigi isn’t hiding out, however. She presented at the American Music Awards last night with Kylie Jenner.
