One major issue that Prince William and Kate Middleton, formally known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have committed themselves to supporting is the issue of mental health, especially children’s mental health. They’re impressing everyone with their attention to this issue.
Here’s a photo of them attending an event related to children’s mental health:

Paul Farmer, who is chief executive of one of their key charities, Mind, said:
They’re great ambassadors for mental health. It allows us to tell a story to a wider community. I am so impressed by the commitment the couple has to this issue of mental health. It is an issue that has been ignored for too long.”
He said he can see their interest and knowledge growing as they continue with their royal engagements.
It is hugely important and it breaks the stigma down. And they do that in a sensitive way. By showing interest and listening to what people are doing and asking key, relevant questions.”
And Paul sees evidence that the Cambridges’ efforts are successful!
People are talking about their commitment and people are beginning to notice their support for mental health as a cause, at a time when mental health services are under a lot of pressure.”
What a great thing for William and Kate to do! Mental health is one of those issues that is incredibly important but doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Good on them for doing something about that.
