Lamar Odom is still in the hospital in LA, and now people close to him and Khloe Kardashian are saying that his life will never be the same after his accidental drug overdose, which led to oxygen deprivation and strokes.
A source explained:
Lamar has made some progress, but his cognitive impairment is making life very challenging.”
He reportedly cannot walk unaided and still has trouble talking.
A source close to Khloe said that Lamar will need help completing even everyday tasks for the forseeable future.
Lamar won’t likely leave the hospital for a long time. And when he does, he will need full time care. He can’t take care of himself.”
Oh my goodness. That type of care is so expensive, and it’s often not covered by insurance. He wasn’t even playing in the NBA at the time, so he might not be eligible for the resources they have for players. Hopefully he qualifies for something. The source said that Lamar “is a fighter” and grateful for Khloe’s support, but the reality is:
Lamar has serious longterm and lasting issues. His life will never be the same as it once was.”
That’s so sad to hear. The warning signs were there: Lamar had two friends die due to drug-related issues, but addiction is a tough illness to beat.
