Reese Witherspoon was thinking big when she decided to launch her lifestyle business, Draper James. She wasn’t just thinking about the business: she also wanted to give back to the community at the same time. She found a great way to do so: Draper James partnered with Girls, Inc.
Here’s the description of Girls, Inc from the Draper James blog:
Girls Inc. at the YWCA of Nashville & Middle Tennessee is the local affiliate of the national nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering girls to succeed. In support of the organization’s focus on the area of money management, Draper James is serving as the Title Sponsor of the Girls Inc. Economic Literacy Program for middle and high school girls in Nashville. The program’s innovative curriculum will be provided via in-school and after school classes, along with a spring break camp. A few participants will even have the opportunity to intern at our Nashville store.
What a great idea!
Reese herself even met with some of the Girls, Inc participants.
I bet that was quite an experience for the girls. Teaching them entrepreneurial skills can only be beneficial to their futures. This sounds like a fantastic partnership.
