Channing Tatum may be on Hollywood’s A-list, but that doesn’t mean he’s impossible to impress. He was “really intimidated” for his first day on the set of the new Quentin Tarantino movie, ‘The Hateful Eight.’
I think on the first day, I must have looked so geeked out because the very first shot was this crazy 360 [degree pan]. And I’m just like wide-eyed trying to figure out what not to screw up.”
This was the first time Channing worked with Quentin. Most of the cast consisted of actors that the director often works with, including Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, and Michael Madsen.
That fact wasn’t lost on Channing.
All these guys work together a lot, and it is a unique experience to be in a Quentin movie, I can promise you.”
It sounds like Tim noticed Channing’s jitters.
And Tim goes, ‘Yep. Yep. You’re about to be in a Quentin Tarantino film. Pull it together, Channing.’
“I looked so scared.”
Channing said it was also special for him to work with Samuel: the two acted together in Channing’s first movie, ‘Coach Carter.’
I did my first movie ever with Sam, and to come full circle like this is pretty extraordinary.”
I bet that was pretty special for him. I’ve been hearing a lot about ‘The Hateful Eight’! Perhaps I’ll check it out. Although I love the dialogue of Quentin’s movies, the gore is sometimes a bit too much for me, so I’ll have to see. How about you?
