I’m choosing Paige Yore’s YouTube video, ‘Pueblo Walmart Changed My Life,’ as the feel good video of the day because it made me think. I’m not sure this is quite a feel good video that will give you the “warm and fuzzies,” but Paige does share an important lesson on why it’s SO important not to judge people: you never know what they’re going through.
Paige was standing in line with a lot of other customers at the Pueblo Walmart, and the cashier was having a rough time of it. She said the cashier looked to be a teenager, maybe about 16, and he was just having a really difficult time keeping the line moving along. Another customer waiting in line finally began to yell at the cashier for being so slow and keeping all of them waiting.
Paige helped load the woman’s bags into her cart to try to help move things along, despite being annoyed herself, yet then the other customer’s card was declined, and the customer became irate, blaming the cashier for some kind of malfunction. Paige spoke up, telling the customer that the cashier was obviously having a bad day but not to be so rude.
The cashier came around to give Paige a hug and burst into tears. When you hear why he was having such a rough day, you will tear up yourself. It taught Paige a powerful lesson about why we should always be kind to people: you never know what someone else is going through.
