Cindy said this about her looks and aging.
Women like Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda, they look amazing and they look appropriate. They look amazing but they’re not trying to look 30.”
That is SO true. Those women show that you don’t have to look 21 to look beautiful!
Besides, Cindy said she’s not trying to compete with her own daughter. She joked:
I don’t want to be trying to compete with my 14-year-old daughter [Kaia Gerber] – because I would lose!”
At one time, Cindy began to wonder when she wouldn’t have to worry about her looks anymore.
I always thought, ‘When can I just let it all go?’ It’s just never. There is no age now!”
She said her book was both about celebrating the past but also embracing the present.
It was the aspect of embracing turning 50 and celebrating the past, but at the same time I am embracing where I am. When I met with the president of Rizzoli, the first thing that he said was, ‘I love the writing!’ I was like, ‘Wow, you think that I’m a good writer?!’ It was stroking my ego, but whatever!”
Hey, take it, Cindy! I’m going to have to check that book out: I bet the essays are terrific.
