London’s financial district has a great fundraising event that brought out Prince William and Kate Middleton (a.k.a. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge). The traders dress up in costume and donate all of their earnings from their trading that day to charity. I wonder if this takes place on Wall Street? I can’t imagine it!
Of course William and Kate made some calls themselves. Here’s Kate on the phone:
She reportedly used a soft approach, telling a trader:
Ask nicely, pretty please, Andrew. “Have a very happy Christmas.”
Overhearing this, William told his wife:
Catherine, I think you can stop flirting with them now!”
Turning to the trader he was paired with, William explained:
Sorry, my wife is just embarrassing me!” I’m sure this was all in jest, of course ;). William also made some phone calls.

He had a more direct approach.
Feeling charitable today?
“Good, just what I want to hear!”
I don’t know how William did, but Kate did close a deal!
She also praised a trader who was wearing high heels. The trader had showed off his hairy legs to the Duchess but kicked his shoes off the minute she left. He said afterwards:
I really don’t know how you women do it! She told me she was impressed because they were so high and said I should put my feet up the minute they had gone. I certainly took her advice on that one.”
Sounds like everyone had a fun time- LOL.
