Here’s our first look at one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2016: ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’! Oscar Isaac, who is also in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ plays the villain Apocalypse. He’s a 5,000 year old Egyptian mutant and wants to bring Professor Charles Xavier into his fold.
To do this, Apocalypse recruits Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Angel (Ben Hardy) to help with this task. Director Bryan Singer explained why he wants Professor X on his side:
It’s a chaotic world of conflict and war and destruction. It’s one giant civilization that now requires one giant culling. That’s why he needs special assistants in this process.”
Oscar had this to say about his character:
He’s believed to be the first mutant, whatever that means. He is the creative-slash-destructive force of this earth. When things start to go awry, or when things seem like they’re not moving toward evolution, he destroys those civilizations.
“The last battle is going to be pretty insane. I mean, it’s like freaking Apocalypse fight all of the X-Men. It’s pretty cool.”
Jennifer Lawrence’s character Mystique teams up with Professor X to oppose Apocalypse. If this is indeed her last ‘X-Men’ film, it looks like she’s going to go out with quite a bang! Check out the trailer for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’: it looks like it’s going to be quite a movie.
