A lot has been said and written about David Foster and Yolanda Foster’s relationship after they announced their decision to divorce after four years of marriage. Now David is speaking out to set the record straight.
David released a statement to E! News.
Over the past few weeks, a great deal of inaccurate or baseless information has been reported claiming to represent my thoughts and feelings. It is painful to watch this happen repeatedly – especially while trying to cope with the personal nature of the challenges surrounding the breakup of our loving marriage.
“I have always had and continue to have the utmost respect and love for Yolanda. Which is why it is so frustrating to see headlines questioning her chronic debilitating illness.
“I have been by Yolanda’s side over the past four years to the best of my ability as she battled with the complexities of her Lyme diagnosis. I am incredibly proud of Yolanda’s determination and mission to find a cure, and how brave and open she has been by sharing her story in the hopes of changing the future for others.”
Well, that was a respectful statement for him to release.
An insider explained their marital problems this way:
No one doubts that Yolanda is sick. It’s very clear that she’s legitimately not been well. But, David is someone who travels constantly and Yolanda became ill just one year into the marriage. It was a lot.”
Apparently David and Yolanda also struggled to “blend” their families: both have children from previous marriages.
David has daughters of his own and there were issues with the families blending. Bringing two sets of children together wasn’t always easy. At one point, Yolanda was close to David’s daughters, but things have changed.”
This was the fourth marriage for each of them, which has David wondering about things.
At this point, David thinks maybe he’s just not cut out for marriage.”
Marriage isn’t easy: ask anyone who’s been married for a decent length of time!
