Country music legend Dolly Parton is on an important mission this holiday season: she wants to save the life of one of her oldest friends, Jerry Edelstein. Jerry needs a new kidney. Watch her heartfelt video after the break.
Jerry, whose other iconic clients include Jon Bon Jovi, has been seeking a kidney for several years and unable to find a donor, found out a couple months ago he was in renal failure. As we enter 2016, his need has now become desperate. The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America and Public Good are hoping to raise awareness in order to find a donor with an O blood type, who could save Jerry’s life. Dolly Parton’s video plea to help save Jerry Edelstein this holiday season can be found at www.publicgood.com/FloodSisters.
Here’s what Dolly had to say:
Hey everyone! Happy Holidays. This is Dolly Parton and I wanted to take the time to acknowledge the Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America. These great people are working really hard to help find a kidney transplant donor for a very special friend of mine, Jerry Edelstein. Jerry and I have been friends for several decades now and he’s one of the finest people in the whole world and as the holiday season is upon us, one of my wishes is for a new kidney for Jerry. I am not a suitable donor but in the spirit of giving, please go to PublicGood.com/FloodSisters and see how you can help. Please do because he’s so sweet and precious!”
I know there’s a suitable donor out there. Hopefully one will be found in time. You can watch her video below:
