The glowing mommy recently told Allure magazine that in addition to children's books, she always keeps La Mer Lip Balm within bedside reach. (Wait a second, isn't she a spokesperson for Givenchy?? Well, I guess that gives the super-salve even more credibility!) So La Mer creme, if you can afford it, is definitely where it's at--but how about the balm??
I moseyed on over to Nieman Marcus for a sample and sure enough, the stuff is pretty potent. It moisturized my lips without being overly sticky, tacky, or glossy--just pure softness. The minty, yet surprisingly neutral, scent is divine and the ingredients are not too shabby either--marine extracts, botanicals, and vitamins, to boot. The price tag, like the fabled creme, however, is not for the feint of heart: $45 for .32 ounces! Yikes. Well, since your lips are seemingly immune to age, my suggestion is to save the pricey items for the more problem areas--eyes, cheeks, hands, neck, etc. As for your lips, my personal recommendation is Smith's Rosebud Salve, which, for $6, is quite the steal!

I love this story.  Janet Jackson has a girl crush on Alicia Keys. So do I! She's gorgeous and talented, what's not to love?!? She said she thinks Alicia is "wonderful." Janet recently talked about how there has been speculation about both Alicia and Oprah's sexually.

She says that's because both are "strong women. Maybe they want to put something else behind it because of the strength. Like, you can't be a woman and be strong, and there has to be something else to it."

She also talked about what would happen if her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri ever came out of the closet,

"I'd be upset because I want to be with him!" she says, laughing. "It's so funny because I joke with him, 'It drives me crazy to be a girl sometimes, so in my next life I'm going to come back as a guy, and you're going to be my b*tch!'"

And Janet opened up about happy ever after,

"I think it's about finding your soul mate. It's finding that person you connect with, but most people don't get it right. Look at me!" she adds. "The thing is I don't know if I ever will or won't get married again. I'm very happy where I am. I just think I jinx marriages, but that's not going to stop me from loving."

She's definitely come a long ways since her Rhythm Nation days, that's for sure. I remember back in the day when she used to wear a giant key as an earring and was married to James Debarge. Times have changed since then but I really hope that this thing with Jermaine that she has now is the real deal.
