Hair-Dying Trends and Fixes

Spring means change--for starters, how about your hair color??   Check out these trends!

  • Brown is the new blonde.  Says Cosmo:

The trend is driven by changing demographics (dark hair appeals to many different cultures) and hot celebs who sport such sexy locks (think Eva Longoria Parker, Rachel Bilson, and Camilla Alves)."

  • John Frieda suggests a cool trend for 2008 is mixing dark and light highlights casually into your hair, creating an "imperfect edge."

If you're worried about mishaps, don't sweat it--try these fixes!:
pantene If the shade comes out a lot darker than you wanted, wash it a couple of times right away with a clarifying shampoo, which will strip some of the excess color.  Try Pantene Pro-V Purity Clarifying Shampoo ($4.99).
vaseline If you get dye on your forehead that won't come off, dab vaseline on the stain and let it absorb overnight.  Use a washcloth to rub it off in the morning.  Smooth the vaseline next time around your hairline first to prevent stains from occurring.
coloroops You're just not happy with it??  If you went darker, you're set with Color Oops hair-color remover ($12.99), which lifts dye from the strands.  If you go lighter, you probably have to dye again darker, but go to a salon to get tips and help.

The Man Shaved!

Now that I see Adrian Grenier without all the fur he's been sporting around town, I kind of miss it. Gave him character in some odd kind of way. Here he is alongside Kevin Dillon on set for HBO's 'Entourage' at Urth Caffe in West Hollywood.

Heal A Sunburn The Relaxing Way

So you cheated. You threw on some baby oil, headed out to your roof and burned yourself to a crisp. Not good! Need some relief? Juara Tiare Jasmine Tea Bath and Body Ritual is right up your alley. Make yourself a nice bath and treat your over sun-exposed skin to some soothing antioxidants from tea extracts.
Then afterwards throw some lemons in the tub and have yourself a drink. Just kidding about that last part... ICK!

Ryan Seacrest To Replace Larry King

Yes, you read that sentence correctly. Ryan Seacrest is in SERIOUS negotiations to take over Larry King's show.
A source from within CNN says that Seacrest, who has filled in for his friend Larry King in the past, is involved in "serious negotiations" to take over "Larry King Live" around year's end. King told The New York Times in April 2007 that Seacrest would be his first choice to take over the show when the time came.

Ryan and Larry... almost the same thing. Makes complete sense to me. Where does that leave Idol I wonder.

LA Made: Worth The Hype? You Decide

Los Angeles vertically integrated knitwear company LA Made's concept sounds familiar, but their aim is for a higher-end audience- hence the mini-shops at Revolve Clothing, Bloomingdales (currently out of stock) and Shop Robertson. They've earned celebrity fans like Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria.
Sure, the cuts are cute, and the brand bills itself as trendy but affordable, but do you think the extra flourishes are worth the price jump over that other LA- based vertically-manufacturing knitwear company? Looks are clockwise from top left.
Crop Prague french terry jacket, $70, also in brown. At Revolve. Available here. (To me: versatile, cute, and different. Worth it.)
Double U ruffle tank, $33. Four colors. Available here. At Revolve. (For a cotton tank? Not worth it.)
Smock back dress with buttons, $85. Available here at Madison Los Angeles. (Yes for me, because of the simple color, great detailing, and appropriate-for-anywhere knee length.)
Viceroy dress, $59, Shop Robertson, available here. (Probably a no for me.)
