Alicia Silverstone Likes To Garden Naked
Remember all the heat Alicia Silverstone took way back in the day when she gained a few pounds? She responded to the criticism by adopting a vegan diet. The benefits of her vegan diet were far more than weight loss.
"You can hear your needs and desires more clearly," she reveals.
"You’re just more juicy—there’s just this lightness that happens. It’s weird to be 32 now and feel and look younger… Right after I first made the switch to a plant-based diet, people were literally telling me, 'What have you done? You’re sparkling.' "
Alicia also credits her vegan lifestyle with keeping her "more in tune with her needs and desires." As a matter of fact, she's so comfortable with herself, she even gardens naked, telling Health Magazine.
"this is my body, it’s not some scary thing."
Now that's some comfort with yourself! But Alicia made it clear that she won't do nudity for a movie, so it sounds like she still values her privacy :)
Alicia was so inspired by her vegan lifestyle that she wrote a book, 'The Kind Diet,' that comes out next month. Then she's coming out with a line of eco-friendly beauty products, including make-up bags and brushes by EcoTools. They're cruelty free and made from recycled materials, bamboo, and hemp.

Alicia Silverstone Writing Veganism Book
Alicia Silverstone will be coming back into the limelight with a new book called The Kind Diet, all about her vegan lifestyle.
Rodale Inc. has just proudly announced plans to publish The Kind Diet, due out in fall 2009 by the actress and animal rights advocate.
The book explores the connection between what we put in our bodies and
what we’re doing to the planet, and how choosing the right foods in the
kitchen can help you feeling lighter, sexier, and more alive. The book
will include a 3-step diet program and 75 vegan and macrobiotic
recipes.
I'm interested in the book, but after Skinny Bitch I'm not sure if I'll be able to stomach it!
Remember how huge Alicia was after Clueless and the Aerosmith videos? After that her star just kind of faded away, but I get the feeling that's how she wanted things to be...she just doesn't seem like the kind of actress that loves the attention. When she starts promoting the book it will be nice to see a little more of her.

Alicia Silverstone Keeping It Real... I Mean Raw
Alicia Silverstone and a male friend went out to eat in the West Village for some healthy food. In my heart of hearts, I wish I wanted to eat so natural. But I can barely get myself to eat a salad! It's so funny because my son is still obviously eating jarred baby food and he LITERALLY eats so much healthier than I do! This morning he had sweet potatoes, peas and oatmeal while I had a Peach Snapple. Something's wrong here...
