Alison Sweeney, host of 'The Biggest Loser' and an actress on 'Days of Our Lives', was at Union Square yesterday, participating in the Glide Tight Spaces Challenge. The challenge was a mini obstacle course that simulated floss getting in between teeth. For every participant that took part in the challenge, Glide donated $1 to Feeding America, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Alison encouraged passersby to take part in the challenge, for chances to win prices. Also, from now until December, you can follow Alison on Twitter and tweet #GlideTightSpaces. Glide will then donate $1 on your behalf.

After the obstacle course, Alison sat down with INO for a chat. If you've ever wondered what she's like in person, I have to say that she's incredibly sweet.

INO: Can you tell us about why you're here today?

I'm here with The Glide Tight Spaces Challenge. Its a fun opportunity to remind people how important it is to use dental floss. It keeps their smiles and teeth clean and pretty. We're also doing a Twitter Challenge and we're doing this in LA on the 21st.

What are you not obsessed with?

I am so not obsessed with my Blackberry. I'm not at all. I'm so not obsessed with technology. I'm obsessed with Twitter. I tweet in the night, I tweet when I get up in the morning.....Technology is my big thing.

INO: You had a baby recently, right?

Yes, I did. I have a 4 and a half year old son. I struggled to lose the weight after I had him. When I had my daughter I really focused on....my intention was to get healthy.

INO: What's the best part of your experience on The Biggest Loser?

I love being on The Biggest Loser because we help so many people change their lives. Even though its a reality show and its a lot of fun to watch, we help so many people. They're getting their lives back. This season, Tracy is a good example. She definitely sparked a lot of discussion. The day she collapsed, I had personally gotten freaked out because the paramedics told me that she wasn't responding to treatment, and that they would have to pinch a nerve, which is a standard paramedic technique. They alerted me that it might really hurt her. They proceeded to do it, but they couldn't because they couldn't get through the fat.

That was really a first-person experience and I witnessed how unsafe it could be to be overweight. We had another contestant who had to have surgery and the doctor said that, if he hadn't lost weight, he would not have survived the injury because the fat can choke out your internal organs. So, I mean, the show saves lives and I'm so proud to be a part of that.
