Amanda Peet And Husband Take Frankie To The Park

Amanda Peet And Husband Take Frankie To The Park

I don't recall every seeing a picture of Amanda Peet's husband David Benioff before. Who do you think their daughter Frankie looks like?

The happy couple took Frances to a Beverly Hills playground in casual wear giving that baby the space she needs to stretch out her legs. My son just took his first real steps last night which was a bit moment for us. Yes, we brought the video camera out and basically started a parade. As a second child, I think I held him much more than my first... so it took longer than anticipated.

But once they start....

Amanda Peet Doesn't Want Us To Listen To Celebrities

Amanda Peet Doesn't Want Us To Listen To Celebrities

While on Good Morning America, Amanda Peet begged her audience to listen to her and not listen to celebrities! She said celebrities abuse their status to talk about things they aren't fully qualified to discuss.

"I’m not a doctor, which brings me to another point. It seems like the media is often giving celebrities and actors more authority on this issue than they’re giving the experts and that’s a sad fact. And I know that’s a paradox - that’s part of why I wanted to become a spokesperson, so I could say, ‘Please don’t listen to me, don’t listen to the actors, go to the experts.’"

She has a point there. :) Here she is with her daughter Frances Pen Benioff out and about in Beverly Hills.

I Want To Believe... In Parasites

I Want To Believe... In Parasites

I can't stop thinking about the word parasite every time I see Amanda Peet. It's so bad! It's permanently embedded in my head. I'm trying to enjoy these great pictures of Amanda laughing and having a good time at the premiere of The X Files: I Want to Believe in LA, but I can't. It's also completely removed my focus on the two main characters from the event - Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny! Parasites. Just parasites. UGH.

Amanda Peet At The Late Show With David Letterman

Amanda Peet At The Late Show With David Letterman

The beautiful Amanda Peet was photographed arriving to the Late Show With David Letterman yesterday wearing a black and white dress with a great pair of black shoes.  I love the material, her make-up, the shoes, the cut, but the ruffles are putting me off. I guess I'm not quite that girly. :) What do you all think of her dress?

Amanda Peet Apologizes For Parasite Comment

Amanda Peet got some pushback from her recent comment calling "parents who don't vaccinate their children parasites." When I read it, I was a bit surprised and so were a few other people.  Amanda must have gotten enough negative attention from it to print up another statement clarifying what she said. She still stands by her ground, but here is what Amanda said.

------

I wanted to address my comment in Cookie magazine that "parents who don't vaccinate their children are parasites." I believe in my heart that my use of the word "parasites" was mean and divisive; I completely understand why it offended some parents, and in particular, parents of children with autism who feel that vaccines caused their illness. For this I am truly sorry. Since my mom has Parkinson's Disease, I know what it feels like to want a concrete cause, and a concrete cure, as soon as possible.

However, I still believe that the decision not to vaccinate our children bodes for a dangerous future. Vast reductions in immunization will lead to a resurgence of deadly viruses. This is as indisputable as global warming. I know a lot of parents who secretly use as a justification, "Well, enough other people are vaccinating, so therefore, we don't have to."

In this era of cynicism, it's hard to believe that any corporation, medical or otherwise, has our best interests at heart. But it's irresponsible to suggest that virtually the entire medical community, and the CDC, and the American Academy of Pediatrics are behind a massive cover-up about vaccine safety. Fourteen studies have been conducted (both here in the US and abroad), and these tests are reproducible; no matter where they are administered, or who is funding them, the conclusion is the same: there is no association between autism and vaccines. How many more studies do we need to conduct on vaccines, before we start re-channeling our efforts and money towards research on autism?

The real question is why the media and journalists are still presenting vaccine safety as a controversy. There are a few fringe medical groups and parent advocacy groups who claim that vaccines cause autism, or that they have too many "toxins," or "viral challenges" for our tiny babies' bodies to handle. In fact, although there are many more vaccine doses given today, the entire vaccine schedule contains far fewer antigens—components of viruses or bacteria—than vaccines of the past. (In other words, it's more shots, but less vaccine.) Why doesn't anyone talk about this? There are still fringe scientists who claim that HIV is a government conspiracy, but these people do not get a lot of media coverage, as it's accepted that this theory has no medical/biological plausibility.

My concern is for our children and their futures. In the fifties, vaccines were recognized as life-saving. My mom had polio and was quarantined when she was 6 years old. It's so hard to appreciate vaccines now that so few children are dying from preventable diseases today, but that could all change if we're not vigilant. There are currently multiple measles outbreaks in the United States. Hopefully children do not have to die before people start to realize the cost of withholding vaccines.

My best wishes to you and your families,

Amanda (and Frankie)

Amanda Peet Supports Child Vaccinations

Amanda Peet Supports Child Vaccinations

Excerpts from Amanda Peet's Cookie Magazine interview have come out and the actress decided to take a stand against parents who don't vaccinate their children.

Peet says on parents of unvaccinated children…

"I buy 99 percent organic food for Frankie, and I don't like to give her medicine or put sunscreen on her. But now that I've done my research, vaccines do not concern me."

“Frankly, I feel that parents who do not vaccinate their children are parasites.”

Vaccinations weren't the only thing Amanda spoke about. Cookie got The X Files star to open up about her baby girl, Frankie.

On the effects her work has on her daughter…

“I still feel desperately sad when I don’t win a role. When you’re able to identify your passions, then your child will be able to identify hers. It’s a great template.”

On the surprises of motherhood…

“One surprise of motherhood for me was how little control I have. I thought it would be an extended, blissful romance with me at the helm, cuddling this little creature to life.”

“It’s been bittersweet and humbling to let her lead, and to try not to be perfect myself.”

Dog Walking Days

Dog Walking Days

A celeb's best friend - the one companion that you know for sure isn't with you for the money or the fame. Just a good ol' rub on the belly and some cuddle time under a blanket is all these furry creatures need. ;) Jessica Biel, Amanda Peet and Charlie O'Connell all took their doggies for a walk yesterday taking full advantage of that California sun.

Amanda Peet On The Set Of The Untitled Nicole Holofcener Project

Amanda Peet On The Set Of The Untitled Nicole Holofcener Project

Amanda Peet was spotted on the set of her new movie the Untitled Nicole Holofcener Project filming in West Village. Nicole Holofcener wrote and directed Friends With Money which I really enjoyed, so I have high hopes for this film. The film is about the lives and relationships between the residents of a New York apartment building. Sounds very interesting!
