Amanda Peet Opens Up About Body Insecurities

'2012' star Amanda Peet didn't hold back with Self magazine in talking about how she really wants her body to look, what she does to maintain her shape, and how she stays healthy.

"I want boobs, a gentle six-pack and a perky butt," the actress, 37, tells the December issue of Self. "If I could choose an ideal body, I’d take Gisele Bündchen’s," says Peet. "I challenge anyone to say she wouldn’t want Gisele’s body, deep down."

She then adds, "Actually, I’d take a number of people’s bodies. I’d take Jennifer Aniston’s, too."

Well, I think Amanda has a great body herself, but we all have our insecurities. How does Amanda take care of herself?

"To me staying healthy means doing everything in moderation," she tells the magazine. "Eat a lot of greens, but in moderation. Exercise, but in moderation. Drink wine, but in moderation. Sleep as much as you can. And have people around you who are very funny."

I LOVE that! Moderation really is key, I think. It's easier said than done, but key :)

Amanda Peet Talks '2012' And Other Disasters

Amanda Peet Talks '2012' And Other Disasters

Amanda Peet sat down with PopEater to chit-chat about starring in her first "big budget" action film, '2012'. She will be co-starring with John Cusack for the third time - they were together in Martian Child and Identity.

On why she decided to sign on for this film:

Well, Roland Emmerich, certainly. I feel if you're going to do a disaster movie you want to do it with Roland Emmerich. Then Chiwetel [Ejiofor] was cast, then John was cast and it was pretty much a no-brainer. I thought the script was a page-turner and I loved 'The Day After Tomorrow.' I feel Roland is the master of this genre. So, if you're going to do it, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance

Talking about doing three films with John, she says she'd love to do a romantic comedy next.

I want to do a romantic comedy with him, that's the thing. That's the final frontier.

Amanda is not a fan of scary movies. PopEater asked if she was a fan of the 1970's disaster movies. Her reply:

No, because I get really scared. I couldn't watch 'Jaws' and I can't watch those movies.

She shared the most frightening thing about filming a disaster movie:

The Gimbal (a pivot that rotates around an axis, like a gyroscope or compass) is a little scary because it feels like a real earthquake. It probably is like a 10.5. Whatever it is, it's hard to look cool and it's a little scary.

Amanda is not ruling the possibility to jump back into television.

'2012' Coming To The Small Screen

'2012' Coming To The Small Screen

The movie '2012' is coming to the big screens soon, but that won't be all we'll hear about it: it's also coming to TV, too, according to Entertainment Weekly. Roland Emmerich is the director/producer of the film, and he spilled the details at the '2012' premiere.

"The plan is that it is 2013 and it’s about what happens after the disaster," Emmerich told EW while walking the red carpet for the 2012 premiere Tuesday.

"It is about the resettling of Earth. That is very, very fascinating. (2012 writer/producer) Harald Kloser and I came up with the idea and we have the luxury of having a producer on the film who is a big TV producer, Mark Gordon. We said to Mark, 'Why don't you do a TV show that picks up where the movie leaves off and call it 2013?'

I think it will focus on a group of people who survived but not on the boats … maybe they were on a piece of land that was spared or one that became an island in the process of the crust moving. There are so many possibilities of what they could do and I'd be excited to watch it."

Mark Gordon is one of the producers on 'Grey's Anatomy,' so he knows how to make good television! I can't wait to see the movie '2012,' starring John Cusack and Amanda Peet, and the TV show sounds like an intriguing idea.

Sound any good?

Jenny McCarthy Opens Up To Cookie Magazine

Jenny McCarthy Opens Up To Cookie Magazine

Jenny McCarthy touched on a wide range of topics when she talked to Cookie Magazine. She didn't hold back!

Jenny set the record straight about her "public wrath" with Amanda Peet when Amanda called parents who don't get their children vaccinated "parasites" in Cookie magazine last year:

"I think vaccines are one of the greatest things ever invented. I used to be [Peet] before I had a kid with autism."

Jenny described her second "rock bottom" period when her son, Evan, had a seven-hour seizure and went into cardiac arrest in 2004:

"I ran out of my house and into my driveway and screamed at the top of my lungs to God to just take him away, because I loved him so much and he was in so much pain"

I Cannot. Even. Imagine.

What does Jenny love about boyfriend Jim Carrey?

"It’s wacky-weird that not only does [Carrey] not want to get married, which I love, but he also doesn’t want to have more kids, which I love."

LOL! Sounds like they're compatible ;)

And Jenny shares the one thing she won't give up as a parent:

"Date night. Even if you’re like, 'No one can handle my kid' –bulls**t! You find someone."

You can read Jenny's entire interview in the September issue of Cookie Magazine.

Amanda Peet Joins Gulliver's Travels Cast

This movie looks like it is shaping up to be a fun one! Jack Black was already signed on for the cast of 'Gulliver's Travels' and now news has just come out that Amanda Peet will also be a part of the project.

The modern retelling follows travel writer Lemuel Gulliver, who heads to an assignment in the Bermuda Triangle only to end up on the secret island of Lilliput, home to a population of industrious tiny people. Peet will play Black's editor and potential romantic interest.

Jason Segel and Emily Blunt will also be in the movie.

Love the quirky casting, I can't wait to see it!

Celebrities Out With Their Children

Celebrities Out With Their Children

Oh my goodness! If Amanda Peet's daughter Frances isn't a spitting image of her mother, then I don't know who is. How absolutely adorable!! Here they are enjoying Cold Water Cayon Park in Beverly Hills. Also spotted outside with her children was Marcia Cross. Eden and Savannah were all smiles!

Last but not least we have Victoria Beckham and her sons Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz Beckham arriving to LAX airport in Los Angeles. These four travel more than anyone else in Hollywood. Take a break Vic! Take a break! It's ok to just sit home on a weekend.

Eva Mendes, Jamie King, & Scarlett Johansson At The Premiere Of "The Spirit"

Eva Mendes, Jamie King, & Scarlett Johansson At The Premiere Of "The Spirit"

Check out all the gorgeous ladies that arrived to the premiere of, "The Spirit" in Hollywood last night.

  1. Eva Mendes arrived in a floor length yellow 70's inspired gown. It's no surprise that she looks gorgeous since she has the ability / power to pull anything off. :)
  2. Scarlett Johansson went in a different fashion direction. She choose a strapless white princess gown, sparkly open toed shoes, and a 50's pin-up hair style.
  3. Paz Vega really knocked it out of the park in a deep purple cocktail gown and nude colored heels.
  4. Jaime King kept things more current in a short navy (black?) dress with shoulder slit accents.
  5. Amanda Peet was cute and casual in a striped top, short black skirt, and white coat.

Overall who do you think stood out as the best dressed? Worst dressed?
