Quote Of The Day: Kellie Pickler

“[I look in the mirror] every time I walk past one,” she revealed. “It’s not like a [vanity] thing. It’s just when you see a mirror, a lot of times I think it’s somebody else, and I have to check to make sure it’s me. If you walk by and there’s a person there, you always just look at the person walking by you. And then you realize your makeup is messed up, and you have to stop for a second to fix it or fix your hair.”

Katy Perry Promises To Be An Honest American Idol Judge

"I don't want to break their hearts, but how many of us know that one person that has been trying and trying, and doing karaoke and little gigs here and there at, like, an open mic. And nobody has told them they can't sing in pitch—for, like, 15 years."
"You're like, 'Somebody needs to say something' and unfortunately, I might be that gal to tell you the truth."

Paula Abdul Says Leaving American Idol Was Never About The Money

Well, I'm sure it was a little bit about the money... and it backfired. But OK - let's go with her side of the story.
Paula Abdul says that leaving 'American Idol' wasn't about money - it was about principle.
“I had to stand on my principle,” Abdul, 47, tells TV Guide. “I’m going to miss the experience of watching young talent evolve into a place where they get to take off and soar.”
“I stand on principle where many people stand on money,” she says. “I’m a hard-working artist. I’ve lasted in this business for 23 years. And you can’t do that unless you are good at what you do.”
“I believe in myself and you have to have your own self respect. And sometimes decisions are very difficult to make, but I’ve always believed that at the core I’m a survivor. There’s not one thing I’ve done that I’ve really set my mind to that I’ve failed at.”
So what’s next? Paula says she is hoping to host a talk show.
“I definitely want to do a talk show because it would be different,” she says. “It would be a lot of fun variety with a ton of unexpected stuff and tributes to everyday people getting their big chance.”
Will you tune into Paula's talk show if she lands one?
