Ugly Betty's Ana Ortiz Talks Motherhood - On And Off Screen
In the September issue of New York Family magazine, Ana Ortiz (Hilda Suarez on Ugly Betty) talks about motherhood on and off screen.
On being a mother on Ugly Betty to Justin (played by Mark Indelicato):
She’s always been his biggest fan, his strongest advocate, his cheerleader. She’s never told him to be anything other than who or what he is. She encourages him to be himself, all the time, no matter what. I think, for young people, it’s so important to have that.
On being a working mother and having her mother help with daughter Paloma:
She comes to the set with me and the baby. So the transition has been pretty good. I have a lot of support from the people at work. We started work probably a little too soon—Paloma was just 2 weeks old when the season resumed.
Fans of the show will enjoy this piece of news! Ortiz also discusses the fourth season of Ugly Betty which premieres October 9th on ABC:
This season I think it’s very “no holds barred.” We’re also moving to Friday nights at 9 p.m., so we can push the envelope a little bit, we have a little more freedom.
'Ugly Betty' Star Ashley Jensen Is Expecting
There must be something in the water on the 'Ugly Betty' set! First, Eric Mabius and his wife welcomed a son. Then Rebecca Romijn had twin girls. Next, Ana Ortiz gave birth to a daughter. And now Ashley Jensen has announced that she's pregnant and "very excited!"
Ashley has made no secret about wanting a baby.
"It would be great! I think I’d really like it."
Ashley married Terence Beesley in 2007 after six years of dating. She's working on a new show, 'Accidentally on Purpose,' which is about:
[A] woman who unexpectedly discovers she is expecting a baby."
I guess Ashley's pregnancy won't create any storyline problems- LOL. Between working on 'Ugly Betty' and now on 'Accidentally on Purpose,' Ashley was bound to get pregnant!

Ugly Betty's Ana Ortiz Welcomes Baby Girl
Ana Ortiz has given birth to a daughter.
The 'Ugly Betty' star is "elated" after she and her husband, musician Noah Lebenzon, welcomed Paloma Louise into the world on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the star said:
"She is elated and completely glowing. She is surrounded by her friends and family and so happy to be a mom. "She is just really enjoying the moment. The baby is absolutely beautiful."
Paloma - the couple's first child - weighed 7lbs 10oz when she was born at 4.25pm in New York.
Mark Indelicato - who plays Ana's son in 'Ugly Betty' - is delighted by the news and says his 38-year-old co-star has the perfect maternal skills.
"She will be an amazing mom. Ana has the biggest heart and she's so loving. She's also laidback and chilled but at the same time she's forceful and knows how to discipline someone if she has to be. It's the perfect combination in being a great mom. She's done it with me a bunch of times when I got out of line. She's definitely my second mom."
During her pregnancy, Ana said she was "really enjoying" the experience of carrying her first child.
She said:
"I've heard lots of horror stories, but I'm actually really, really enjoying this."

Anna Ortiz Hosts Product-n-Press Live
Earlier this week, I went to Product-n-Press Live hosted by Ana Ortiz, from Ugly Betty, a fun event that showcased tons of products for moms and babies. There are a few that I'm psyched about and I'll tell you about them in the next few posts but I wanted to share some pics of the beautiful and very pregnant Ana Ortiz.
She's due near the end of July and she looks like she hasn't gained a pound anywhere else but her belly! I asked her about her outfit for the event, which was a powder blue tailored pants suit with a white tank from Rosie Pope Maternity, a chic maternity boutique, located at 78 Greene Street, in Soho.
"The clothes are reeeeally comfortable," Ana said.
She stressed how important this was to her, especially with her pending due date. Rumor has it the actress is due next week! Rosie Pope's pants have a variety of waistbands so Ana didn't have to sacrifice comfort for style. She looked effortlessly elegant and relaxed.

'Ugly Bettys' Ana Ortiz, Vanessa Williams and Judith Light arrived to The Point Honors Gala held at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York last night looking FANTASTIC. Can you believe how amazing Ana looks while pregnant? How wonderfully put together!
Two of my favorite TV ladies, Angela Lansbury and Susan Lucci also attended last night's event making me happy since we don't get a chance to see Angela out very often. Who else was a huge fan of 'Murder, She Wrote'?

Ugly Betty's Ana Ortiz Is Going On A Babymoon
Now this sounds like a great idea! Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz is preparing for the birth of her first child, a girl. While Ana prepares for the baby, her husband, Noah Lebenzon, is prepping her by planning a "babymoon" for the two of them.
'He planned this little 'babymoon' for us! We're just going to get away,
just the two of us, for a spa weekend before the baby comes and spoil
ourselves and get pampered,' the starlet, expecting a baby girl in
July, told In Touch."
There certainly won't be much time for that after the baby comes, so it sounds like great planning to me! Noah sounds like an amazing husband: at least, Ana clearly thinks so ;)
'[Noah's] amazing. There hasn't been a day that goes by that he hasn't told me that I'm gorgeous and sexy,' she added."
Awww ;) Did any of you do anything like this before having your first baby?

Celebrities Arriving To The GLAAD Awards
Quite a few celebrities came out to support the GLAAD Awards this past weekend!
- Tyra Banks went a bit masculine with her choice of attire in a classic black tux.
- Ana Ortiz from, Ugly Betty showed off her baby bump in a white dress and looked beautiful.
- T.R. Knight from, Grey's Anatomy was handsome in a classic 3 piece suit.
- Clay Aiken went with a suit as well, though he kept it simple.
- Vanessa Williams did something a bit different with a short colorful dress and platform pumps.
- Last up we have Judith Light who looks SO GOOD! She must have found the fountain of youth in her back yard. :)
