Parents In An Uproar Over Upcoming 'Gossip Girl' Episode

An upcoming episode of Gossip Girl is causing quite a stir. A group called The Parents Television Council (PTC) is asking the CW to preempt the episode. All of the controversy is being caused by a rumored scene involving a threesome. It's not being said which cast members are involved in the racy storyline but Michelle Trachtenberg says:
“[It’s] worth waiting for,” Michelle, who plays “Gossip Girl” troublemaker Georgina Sparks, told MTV News earlier this month.
The PTC group wrote a letter to the CW president, Dawn Ostroff, imploring her to consider not airing the episode.
“To include a storyline like this on a program that is expressly targeted to impressionable teenagers is reckless and irresponsible. We are asking each CW Network affiliate to use their common sense and preempt this episode,”
I'm sure the controversy will help to boost the ratings, which have been dipping. So, my guess is that the letter will fall on deaf ears at the network. Do you think the "threesome" will become the new "girl on girl" kiss as far as trying to stir up some publicity?
You can read the full letter to the network here.

Celebrities Attend The 2009 Angel Ball

Jennifer Hudson, Blake Lively, Bar Refaeli, Penn Badgley, Natalie Cole, Howard Stern, Beth Ostrosky, Estelle and Alan Cumming attended the 2009 Angel Ball held at Cipriani Wall Street. The event, held by the Gabrielle's Angel Foundation, funds "basic and clinical medical research which primarily focuses on prevention, treatment and quality of life issues of leukemia, lymphoma and related cancers".
So nice to see such a variety of celebrities come out for such a great cause.

Blake Lively's Outdoor Style

Maybe I should say Serena van der Woodsen's outdoor style, since Blake Lively was shooting scenes for 'Gossip Girl' when these photos were taken.
Serena has a pretty diverse style, I must say, going from a lavender coat to a black leather jacket. Which do you prefer?
I bet Blake's just glad her wardrobe includes an ADAM coat: I bet it's chilly filming outside in the city for hours on end!

Penn Badgley Admits Dating A Co-Worker May Not Be A Good Idea

Well, I have one (okay, two) things to say about 'Gossip Girl' star Penn Badgley: first, this guy definitely keeps it real, and second, he seems incredibly grounded. In an interview with Men's Health magazine, Penn talked about dating his co-worker, Blake Lively, and his style sense.
"Having a relationship with someone you work with might not always be the smartest move," he says.
"But it's been wonderful to be in a relationship where we can both identify with what the other is experiencing."
I think (hope?) that the fact that Penn realizes the risks involved may help him avoid doing anything harmful to his career! And the same for Blake :)
And as for Penn's sense of style (he actually admits to having one!):
"There's a stigma about looking like you're tying too hard, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try at all. I really think that's a bigger mistake."
Hear, hear! If you want to show that quote to a perhaps, overly casual boyfriend or husband, Penn's interview is November issue of Men's Health, which is called "The Denim Guide."
