Should we really be surprised by this?  Britney Spears' mom's book is revealing that she's had a wild streak since a young age.  Britney has been in the spotlight since she was a little girl so I don't think it's any shocker that she grew up a bit faster than the rest of us.

Some of the claims are:

• Britney began drinking at age 13.
• She lost her virginity at age 14.
• She started doing drugs at 15.

Her mom's book goes into details saying, 

Britney famously claimed to be a virgin during the early stages of her career, but her mother says she let her 16-year-old daughter sleep with teen sweetheart Justin Timberlake.

And the book is said to reveal that Britney was caught on a private jet with cocaine and cannabis - at just 16.

What a crazy world Britney grew up in. No wonder she has had such a struggle in her adult life.

The MTV network has confirmed that Britney Spears will once again kick off the MTV Video Music Awards. Though it will not be a performance, it will be something "fun and unexpected". Britney released a statement sayin:

"MTV has long played an important role in my career. How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMAs? I'm excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated"

Um... YEAH! It's nice to hear Britney Spears say it though. After all, say what you want, but Britney is a changed woman. She's no longer manic and out of control. It's a controlled, slow life and it's all thanks to Jamie stepping in and literally taking over.

Britney told the The Daily Star,

"My father saved my life. I probably wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him. I’ve not always been a good daughter; but he basically gave up his job and his life to look after me at a time when I wasn’t even sure I wanted to go on living.
"I owe him my life."

Britney Spears is keeping really quiet this year isn't she? Staying with people she can trust, not getting into trouble, living life as far away from the limelight as possible. I'm really happy for her. Hopefully, with more time and healing under her belt, she will be able to fully claim back those boys.

According to Transworld News, Britney Spears is allegedly trying to convince her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears to move in with her. The pop star has been dying to get her little sister under her roof so she can help take care of Maddie. Britney is even offering to build her niece a brand new nursery filled with everything a little baby needs. Oh wait... that's just some diapers, a blanket and a few articles of clothing. You know what I mean.

“Brit has assured Jamie Lynn that she’ll build a nursery for Maddie – even promising that when she buys her new place, it will have a special wing for them.”

Meanwhile, sources claims Jamie Lynn has moved out of her Mississippi home where she lived with Casey Aldridge and moved in with mother Lynne Spears.

Hmmmnnn... what's the safer bet? Staying with mom who is currently busy trying to promote her BOOK about the downfall of her family, or move in with Britney who is trying to show the world that she is back and as healthy as ever?

This rumor just won't die will it? It keeps living and breathing and I am the one supplying it oxygen. Well, after this rep confirmation from Justin Timberlake's camp... it is what it is. There is NO TRUTH to the rumor that Justin and Britney Spears will work together on an upcoming project.

Timberlake’s spokesman has denied a collaboration, insisting he "is not scheduled to be in the recording studio with Britney".

E! Entertainment's Kim Vo has confirmed that he is working on three different hair styles for Britney Spears to show off at the MTV Video Music Awards. Here is the breakdown according to their website:

• The first look would obviously be for the red carpet. Vo says he and Brit are still “feeling out” ideas about how that will look.

• The second style would be for the show itself, probably something “more chic, like a side ponytail.”

• And look No. 3 would be for her PERFORMANCE! That’s right, we said performance. For such an event, Vo and Brit want something “more quintessential Britney.” "Performance" and “quintessential Britney” said together could only mean our girl is definitely coming back to us.

So what do we think? Is this a confirmation? I mean, one that we will trust? Is Britney really going to perform on stage? Will it be a song we haven't heard yet? Is anyone else excited?!

 

A camera shy Britney Spears was photographed exiting Conaway recording studios with her mother Lynn. It's so nice to see her parents back in the picture. It's exactly what Britney needs to stay on track. Even the haters can't deny the noticeable difference.

Too bad Jamie Lynn doesn't spend more time with her older sister. But we all know that the Nickelodeon star currently has her hands full.

Holy smokes! After all is said and done with the ongoing custody case between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, she'll end up paying about $900,000 in legal fees alone.

In March Britney paid $495,000 to Kevin's legal team.

Britney's current lawyer, Stacy Phillips, now wants $338,414.87 for her work and she says that's a discounted price. But, to give you an idea, Britney's last lawyer, was paid just $60,000 for 2 months of work.

Phillips says that Spears’ conservatorship arrangement, which has gotten much of the credit for her 180-degree turn for the better over the last five months, made her case more complex.

Britney's father will contest the fees as being exorbitant in September.

More promotional videos have been released to help promote the MTV VMA awards with Britney Spears. It's nice to see the industry once again embracing the pop star instead of throwing her under the bus.

The VMAs could have totally taken a different approach mocking last year's performance instead of playing nice with Brit Brit.
