I think it’s safe to say things are NOT going well for Justin Bieber. He returned to his native Canada to turn himself into a Toronto police station to respond to assault charges. Justin’s lawyer explained the situation to People in a statement:
The Toronto Police Service requested that Justin Bieber appear in Toronto today to face an allegation of assault relating to an incident on December 29, 2013. We anticipate that this matter will be treated as a summary offense, the equivalent of a misdemeanor in the United States.
“Our position is that Mr. Bieber is innocent. As the matter is now before the court, it would be inappropriate to address the specifics of either the allegation or of our defense at this time.”
Apparently this incident occurred at a Toronto Maple Leafs game on December 29 and involved Justin, his entourage and a limo driver. Either the singer or someone in his entourage is being accused of assaulting the driver. Innocent or not, all these legal problems suggest SOMETHING is going on with Justin. It sounds like it’s time for him to take some time off from the spotlight and come back down to earth. Have you heard about the petition to have him deported? More than 100,000 people signed the petition, so the White House has to respond. Oy vey.
