Fashion Round Up: Cate Blanchett

I think Cate Blanchett is a very fine actress. I thoroughly enjoy her on the big screen. Her fashion round up was a big hit or miss for me though. What do you think about her line up? One thing I CAN say - this girl doesn't mind taking a chance. I admire that. I stick to what I know works for me. Cate is all over the map with her outfit selections. Her closet must be amazing!
Love It Or Hate It: Cate Blanchett's Dress

Cate Blanchett attended the premiere of her new movie, Elizabeth: The Golden Age in London. I love the color of her dress, but I'm not so sure about the style. It looks almost toga-ish. She normally looks great and has a fabulous sense of style. What do you think of Cate's premiere dress?Click the thumbnails to enlarge
Cate Blanchett In W Magazine
I think it's time to make it official. Cate Blanchett is a GODDESS! Oh, and did you know the woman is 38 and has two sons under the age of 6? Amazing! She was recently interviewed for W Magazine's October issue. Here are a few excerpts:
She can't turn down a challenge, which is why she had no problem accepting to play the role of Bob Dylan in his biopic:
"I used to constantly play that Truth, Dare, Kiss or Promise game as a child. I guess I've never outgrown it. If somebody challenges me to do something, I say okay. I say okay very quickly."
On the storyline of the Dylan biopic:
"The script was verging on impenetrable," she says. "It's like an algebraic equation. You think: This makes sense in the mind of the mathematician. I knew that if you assembled it, somehow Bob Dylan would emerge, but only Todd (the director) knew how."
On the director casting a woman to play the part:
"It's another crazy idea," she says. "I just strapped those breasts down and went for it."
On making a sequel to the movie Elizabeth which was nominated for 7 Oscars:
"When Shekhar mentioned it to me before, I always said no. Why would I want to do that? What else is there to say?" she says. This script, however, which finds the Queen at mid-reign, single and childless, struck a chord. "I started thinking about what supposed "middle age' means and the really modern concern that women have about infertility and the loss of one's attractiveness."
Getting back into the Queen's costume for Elizabeth, "was quite surreal and discombobulating at times," says Blanchett. "It was that strange thing of, is there an echo in the room?"
On more children:
"We're not going to wait forever," Blanchett says, downing a rather large vitamin pill before tucking in to a plate of crispy eggplant. "God, I'd love it to be now. I'd love it to be next week."

Fashion At The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

How AMAZING does Sandra Bullock look? I just adore her and really enjoy finding pictures of her glammed up. Lots of ladies strutted their stuff up the stairs into the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the annual Costume Institute Gala. Click on the thumbnails below to see what each of these celebrities wore:
- Hilary Swank
- Donatella Versace

Red Carpet Fashion For The Academy Awards

Let's get this Oscar party started! Okay, so I fell asleep somewhere in the middle of the award show. But I was WIDE awake during the red carpet arrivals! I noticed a lot of straight hair and red lipstick. Don't make me go out and get Eva Longoria's new Revlon (or is it Loreal) shade! :) Let's take a look at who wore what -
- Nicole Kidman - the red bow can only be pulled off by her. If I wore that dress, I would look insane.
- Celine Dion - I think this is the BEST she has ever looked. She almost looked like she had some work done on her face. Amazing!
- Kate Winslet - the color was nicer on Beyonce. BUT I loved her dress nevertheless. PS - I really wanted her to win!
- Cate Blanchett - not my type
- Gwyneth Paltrow - not my type and as I watched her on TV, I had such an urge to cut her hair

Update on my site: I posted a little comment yesterday about all the issues I've been having lately. I think it has something to do with the bubbles on my site. So I am getting a simpler design to try to avoid these issues. If you come on my site and some of the stories are jumbled or you can't find the "next page" link below over the next few days, please just refresh the page. That usually fixes the issue. I've also noticed that it seems to happen more when you are on Firefox. I've brought this up to the original designer a few times. But it never happens for her so she can't fix it. So - NEW LOOK HERE WE COME! Please be patient with me. This should all work itself out over the next week or so. :)
Final Dress Round Up Of The SAG Awards

Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Hudson, Vanessa Williams and Jaime Lynn Sigler all wore such amazing dresses to the SAG Awards. Metallics and white seemed to be the theme of the evening. I also remember hearing belts were pretty hot this season for dresses. Did anyone catch Vanessa Williams getting interviewed by Ryan Seacrest? He said she looked very different from the Golden Globes (a look that didn't go over well with others). She got a little defensive with him![]()
