Hot Guys Of The Day

hot guys 2014 oscars (1)

It was IMPOSSIBLE to choose just one Hot Guy of the Day from the 2014 Oscars last night. Everybody looked HAWT. One thing was clear, though. The guys decided the ladies weren’t going to have all the fun dressing up in various gowns while they wore plain black tuxes. I’ve never seen so many white tuxes! Academy Award winners Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto were both rocking white tuxes, as was Ryan Seacrest. I liked the change!

‘Live with Kelly & Michael’ host Michael Strahan decided to go with some color with his burgundy suit. The rest of the guys, like Leonardo DiCaprio, Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt, Jamie Foxx, Channing Tatum, Zac Efron, Steve McQueen, Jeremy Renner, and Will Smith (with a suave touch) stuck with basic black, but they still looked great. I was thrilled to see Brad’s and Steve’s movie, ’12 Years a Slave,’ win Best Picture last night. Perfect ending to the show!

Go Inside Mark Seliger’s Portrait Studio At The Vanity Fair Oscar Party #vfoscars

PicMonkey CollageVanity Fair is known for two things when it comes to the Academy Awards: their portraits and their annual Oscar party. This year, Vanity Fair partnered with Instagram to combine the two traditions into one project. In a custom-built studio adjoining the Vanity Fair Oscar Party space, contributing photographer Mark Seliger shot portraits of guests all night long. Here are some of them. These portraits are AMAZING. They’re better than watching the red carpet! You can see even more pics at the Instagram accounts of Vanity Fair, VFHollywood, and Mark Seliger. These pictures are AMAZING: take a look!

Academy Award Winner LUPITA NYONG’O
Kept The Party Going At Vanity Fair Oscar Party

2014 vanity fair oscar party (1)

We think of the Academy Awards as being quite an event, but you know, I bet the Vanity Fair could rival it. The Vanity Fair Oscar Party essentially has two parts. It starts out as a viewing party. Then the winners and everyone else join in the fun after the Oscars are over. Here’s Lupita Nyong’o holding her Oscar as she makes her way inside. Lupita and Jared Leto gave two of the most touching acceptance speeches last night, I thought.

It’s also fun to watch the Vanity Fair arrivals to see what people changed into. Lupita slipped into this slinky number. LOVE the fringe at the top. Penelope Cruz flashed some leg in her black frock. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Jason Stathan hit up the party as did Robert DeNiro and Grace Hightower as well as Bo Derek and John Corbett. Bo and John are a cute couple, aren’t they? ‘True Blood’ stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer made it to the party. Reese Witherspoon went with a plunging neckline for her LBD. Jenna Dewan-Tatum stuck with the same gown she wore to the Academy Awards, and I don’t blame her: it’s gorgeous! Take a look at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party arrivals, including Amy Poehler, Serena WilliamsJane Fonda, Miranda Kerr, Irina Shayk, and more. What do you think of the after-party looks?

Broke Twitter With Celebrity Selfie #Oscars!

2014 oscar twitter picEllen DeGeneres managed to BREAK twitter with her group Oscar selfie! Here it is (in case you weren’t able to get onto twitter to see a re-tweet). Ellen approached Meryl Streep under the guise that they should try to break a record since Merly’s been nominated 18 times. Meryl, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, and a number of other celebs were game. Here’s the resulting twitpic! Ellen captioned it with this:

If only Bradley’s arm was longer. Best photo ever. #oscars

I agree: Best Photo Ever- LOL. Ellen announced later in the Oscar broadcast that twitter did, indeed, go down briefly after the pic went live on twitter. LOVE IT.

More Red Carpet Style #Oscars

2014 oscars red carpet; jennifer lawrence & lupita nyong'o (1)

Last year Jennifer Lawrence wore a pretty pale pink gown; this year she vamped it up a little in this red number. LOVE it! Lupita Nyong’o has been turning heads with brightly colored dresses all awards season. For the Oscar red carpet, Lupita switched it up with this dress. I heard her saying on TV that she actually helped design this gown! Champagne bottles were the inspiration, as well as the color blue. Lupita said she grew up surrounded by blue. I think she looks AMAZING.

Take a look through the gallery at the other red carpet looks. Kate Hudson took the plunge in her gown. Meryl Streep wore an elegant gown. Elsa Pataky flaunted her baby bump on the arm of Chris Hemsworth! Charlize Theron attended the Oscars sans Sean Penn but still looking as elegant as always. Jessica Biel, Naomi Watts, and nominee Cate Blanchett all decided to go for nude-colored dresses: talk about understated elegance! Penelope Cruz could pass for a Greek goddess, couldn’t she? Love her gown!

And we can’t forget the celeb couples. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith look great and seem to be going as strong as ever. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are as cute as ever. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum make for one gorgeous couple. What do you think of the Oscars red carpet?

Elegant For The Oscars Red Carpet

sandra bullock, jennifer garner, emma thompson 2014 oscars (1)

Here’s Best Actress nominee Sandra Bullock on the red carpet at the Academy Awards. The ‘Gravity’ star is a beauty in blue! I loved Sandra in ‘Gravity,’ so I’m rooting for her, but Cate Blanchett seems unbeatable  this year. Emma Watson was simple and chic in her frock. Love her upswept ‘do, too.

Jennifer Garner shimmered in silver. It’s fun to see her get all glamorous for the red carpet. We’re so used to seeing her in jeans and sneakers while running her kids around. Yet Jennifer can hold her own with the best of them on the red carpet. All of these ladies look amazing, don’t they?
