Someone was waiting out for the big bucks.... and he got it!
Chris Noth was the only lead character in the Sex and the City movie to NOT sign his contract confirming his appearance in the sequel. That is... until last night. Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed that Mr. Big is back! But she won't tell us a darn thing about the story line.
"I don't know anything yet."
Yeah you know Sarah! You know! You just aren't giving it up. It's better this way... but it still is driving me crazy.
The movie - which will be released in May - could also see Gilles Marini reprise his role as Samantha’s Jones’ love interest!! You know, the 'Dancing with the Stars' hunk who frequently showered outdoors and drove Samantha crazy! Parker said:
"I don't have a clue. I don't know anything specific about a story for him, but it's very possible."
Don't read this next part if you don't want to see a huge spoiler. Click on the continue reading link to find out.

Well, the answer appears to be: kinda, sorta, yes, but Don't. Panic. Chris Noth admitted to Extra that he still hasn't formally signed on to do the next Sex and the City movie.
We're still in negotiation, and we'll get there."
I, for one, have complete confidence that they will indeed work out the "scheduling issues" that are holding things up and make this work. Chris himself is so confident he even shared what he would like to see happen in the movie.
'I think he and Carrie should go to Bali,' Noth said, 'but I'm sure it'll be in New York and I'll be stuck in my office.' "
Can there be a second Sex and the City movie without Mr. Big?

Well, I guess it would be a natural progression, wouldn't it, for Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker's character) and Mr. Big (Chris Noth) to become parents? Chris seems to think so, and the producers just may agree with him.
'[Producers] are probably thinking about [Carrie having a baby], but I don't know,' Chris Noth teased Usmagazine.com at Exit the King's opening night in New York City Thursday."
What do you think of the idea of seeing Carrie as a mom? They won't have to worry about being sensitive to the recession: what new mother is prancing around in $600 Manolo Blahnik shoes? That's a stretch even for an escapist movie, don't you think?

Just a typical day in celebrity-ville.
Sarah Jessica Parker walked... I mean RAN her son James to school this morning. Isn't she always late?! I love that - but I'm sure his teachers dont' agree.
Geri Halliwell took Bluebell for a nice walk this morning covered up in a warm blanket. Love those princess boots!
Chris Noth and Tara Wilson took their son, Orion out for a stroll in Los Angeles. This is a rare sighting isn't it? Chris normally flies under the radar when he isn't promoting a movie. Guess the paps got lucky!

How awesome would that be?!? Chris Noth has just thrown the idea in the mix...he thinks the sequel to the Sex and the City movie should be filmed in London!
"We are doing a sequel right here in London. I don’t know, I’m just kidding, it’s up to the writer, Michael Patrick King.
He has some great ideas. I think it would be a great place to make it. If Woody Allen can make films in London, why can’t we? "Maybe Carrie and Mr Big could take their honeymoon here, maybe his business could move here or could bring him here and they could settle down."
Although, NYC is pretty central to the show's plot, it seems like London has a similar cosmopolitan feel. It might be fun to mix it up a little bit. What do you think...SATC London, yay or nay???

Jeff Goldblum!! I la la LOVE him! Chris Noth has been bitten by the movie bug. He is off to play either the super wealthy committment-phobe boyfriend or the gritty cop with the crooked past. Type cast much?
Jeff will be taking his place on "USA Network's Law & Order: Criminal Intent. There, he will share lead crime-solving duties with Vincent D'Onofrio".
"Jeff's presence will add a new dimension to an already successful show," franchise overL&Ord Dick Wolf says in a statement.
When asked about his exit, Noth told TVGuide.com in a statement,
"When others couldn't get television shows produced in New York, Dick Wolf found a way to do it, and as a New Yorker I truly appreciate all that he has done for the city. The last few years have been fantastic, and both sides are happy with the result. 'All's well that ends well.'"

Well, isn't this exciting casting news. Renee Zellweger and Chris Noth have both signed on for the same movie. Renee specifically requested Chris to be her love interest as she felt he was the perfect fit. Here is the breakdown -
Renee plays a woman looking for a wealthy man to support her family.
Chris plays that wealthy man.
A 1950s-set comedy in which the glamorous Anne Deveraux (Zellweger) embarks on a drive down the Eastern Seaboard in a quixotic search for a wealthy man to fund a new life for her and her sons
I really enjoy Chris as an actor and am so excited to see him landing more lead roles on the big screen. Hopefully, the SATC movie has kicked up his career a notch. (Yes, I sounded like Emeril right there)
My One and Only is due out in 2009.

"Kill Mr. Big? I would have been chased around the planet by women with torches. My ultimate target was to make our 'girlfriends' - ” in other words, our audience - ” happy. And I don't think Mr. Big dying would make them happy."
