"Best Album Yet" For Christina Aguilera

"Best Album Yet" For Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera is working on her "best album yet". The 'Candyman' singer has collaborated with M.I.A., Flo Rida, Le Tigre and Santigold on 'Light and Darkness', which is being produced by Tricky Stewart, the mastermind behind Rihanna's 'Umbrella' and Beyonce's 'Single Ladies'. Tricky said:

"It's just great. I wouldn't say that it's alternative, I wouldn't say that it's different. Christina's always been an artist that moves the bar and that's what the great ones do.

"They don't stay in the same place for too long and this album is just another move for her. I really feel it's one of her best bodies of work that I've heard since 'Stripped'."

The CD will be Christina's fourth studio album, and her first since 2006. But although the album is almost finished, it won't be released until next year because Christina is too busy working on new film 'Burlesque' with Cher.

"She's gonna do the film first. She didn't want to not be able to promote this record because it's going to be a big record for her.

"The album is finished. She's mixing. She hasn't made a final decision about what the first single is, but I know everyone feels good about their options."

My favorite Christina album is her Christmas one. Yes, I'm serious. I play it for the entire month of December. My husband's LEAST favorite album (I am sure you can guess) is Christina's Christmas album. LOL! He wants to KILL ME during the holidays.

Are you a fan of Christina's work? Her voice is undeniable.

Christina Aguilera Visits Guatemala With The World Hunger Relief Campaign

Christina Aguilera Visits Guatemala With The World Hunger Relief Campaign

Christina Aguilera paid a visit to malnourished children during a recent trip to Guatemala. The singer is a spokesperson for the World Hunger Relief campaign and was brought to tears when she saw how these young children were living.

"I wanted to see with my own eyes what hunger means. As a mom my heart just breaks when I see how young mothers struggle to feed their children. I don't think I can ever forget these images. The people of WFP (World Food Program) do such a great job helping hungry children and mothers."

Christina is happy to use her celebrity status to shed light on the issue. She also says there is a big take away she will hold onto from this trip.

"One of the biggest lessons I'm taking away from this trip is the importance of healthy food. If a child under two doesn't get the nutrients they need, we can never fix the damage later on."

Christina Aguilera Talks About Childhood Abuse

Christina Aguilera Talks About Childhood Abuse

Christina Aguilera is opening up about some of the horrible things her family went through at the hands of her abusive father. The singer just completed a 2 hour documentary where she recaps some of her experiences and gave an interview to E! Entertainment about the upcoming program.

"I witnessed a lot of unpleasant things - a lot of pushing and shoving and fighting and quarreling. Growing up I did not feel safe. Feeling powerless is the worst feeling in the world. I turned to singing as an outlet. The pain at home is where my love for music came from."

Even her mother chimed in with a few memories.

Aguilera's mother, Shelly, describes the extent of the abuse in the documentary, recalling one horrific incident when she found a four-year-old Aguilera with blood dripping from her chin.

The singer's mother says, "I scooped her up and said, 'Oh my God. What's wrong?' She told me, 'Daddy wanted to take a nap and I made too much noise.'"

I can't imagine what that must have felt like as a parent. To see your child bleeding... makes me sick.

Many years later, Christina's father Fausto made his way back into her life - but it was short lived.

"I let him back into my life briefly but I soon realized that he is not necessary in my life."

We can't help who our parents are. I think it's brave of Christina to realize the relationship was toxic and to let it go.

Christina Aguilera Cries As She Talks About Her Love For Jordan

A sneak peek of 'Christina Aguilera: An E! Entertainment Special' (which airs this coming September) really shows the singer in a new light. Here is a clip showing the new mom opening up about her personal life.

On her love for Jordan (she's crying in the video as she says this):

I grew up not really having any sort of male perspective or role model and Jordan just continuously makes me fall deeper and deeper in love with him everyday.

He just exudes such love and is such a great father to Max that it makes me the happiest woman alive and I am lucky to have him.

On trying to get back into shape after having Max:

It's an ongoing thing. I can't torture myself so I have to have some form of carbs and I have to eat and drink what I like.

On never fighting in front of Max:

Every couple has their moment when they disagree but I never allow any arguments to escalate in front of Max.

Christina Aguilera Takes Max Out Shopping

Christina Aguilera Takes Max Out Shopping

It's Max!!!

Christina Aguilera spent the afternoon shopping at La La Ling, a children's clothing store in Los Feliz, Ca with her husband Jordan Bratman and their young son Max Liron Bratman.

Looks like the tot has a black eye - poor thing. These kids get banged up all the time don't they? My son has been limping for the past two days because he fell while running around with his sister. Breaks my heart to see him walk!
