Dennis Hopper's Wife Is Detrimental To His Health

Dennis Hopper started divorce proceedings last month, as he fights for his life against prostate cancer. Today he filed papers in the case, requesting that Victoria be kept 15 yards away from him and banning her from his home. Dennis and his doctors feel that she is hindering his battle with cancer.
His lawyer claims that Victoria:
"repeatedly subjected [him] to severe emotional distress."
And Dennis's doctor said her presence is detrimental to his health:
"The presence of his estranged wife is hampering Mr. Hopper's present cancer care..." Dr. Agus added, "It is my belief and recommendation that the less Mr. Hopper has to do with his estranged wife at this time, the more likely he is to have his life extended."
Under the prenup Victoria loses her 25% cut of his estate if they divorce.
In Dennis' declaration, he says Victoria's mother suggested:
"...told me in November of 2009 that I should simply leave the bulk of my property to [Victoria] as I was going to die soon. I found this statement distressing, inappropriate, bizarre, and disturbing."
Dennis also writes that in December, Victoria and her mother woke him up in the middle of the night to question him about how much money and property Victoria would get when he died!
Hopefully the judge will do what Dennis wants and needs.

Dennis Hopper Files For Divorce With One Month Left To Live

Dennis Hopper has filed for divorce on his deathbed. It is believed the actor has only a month left to live after his prostate cancer spread to his bones. And this weekend he filed for legal separation from wife Victoria Duffy citing "irreconcilable differences". It must be BAD if he didn't want to die being married to her. Seems very drastic and urgent.
According to reports, Victoria has “barricaded herself” in their home and is refusing to move out while Dennis is trying to lessen the amount she will receive in his will from that stated in their original pre-nuptial agreement.
"This is about getting Victoria out of the will. It's truly a tragedy, and sadly it's all about the money and who inherits what."
According to court records, the 73-year-old actor lists the date of separation as last Tuesday.
He has offered to pay his wife support and is also requesting joint legal custody of their six-year-old daughter Galen. Dennis has four children from his five marriages.
I still can't get over that Dennis is so sick. He should not have to be living out his final days under so much stress and pressure. My thoughts are with this family and their 6 year old daughter.

Dennis Hopper Has Been Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer

Dennis Hopper has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The ‘Easy Rider’ actor has now canceled all his travel plans as he focuses on getting treatment through a “special program” at the University of Southern California.
His manager Sam Maydew added: “We’re hoping for the best.”
The 73-year-old star had to cancel an appearance at Melbourne’s Australian Centre for the Moving Image, where a collection of his artwork and photography – ‘Dennis Hopper and the New Hollywood’ – is being shown.
Last month, Dennis was released from a New York hospital after being treated for dehydration.
It was initially reported the 73-year-old star was suffering from flu-like symptoms, but further details of his illness were not been released.
I am so sorry to hear this. Hopefully the treatments will be successful.
