Winners From The 2009 BET Awards Plus Michael Jackson Tribute

Winners From The 2009 BET Awards Plus Michael Jackson Tribute

Tributes to Michael Jackson dominated the BET Awards last night.
Joe Jackson - the father of the 50-year-old pop legend, was one of the first to pay homage to his son, speaking about him on the red carpet at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium.

"I wish the world had recognized him when he was living. Right now, he's bigger than ever. But I wish he was here to see all this, to hear all this."

Janet Jackson also made an appearance, and thanked Michael's fans for all their support in the wake of his passing.

"My entire family wanted to be here tonight, but it was just too painful so they elected me to speak with all of you.
"I would just like to say that to you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family, and he will forever live in all of our hearts.
"On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all your love - thank you for all your support. We miss him so much."

Jamie Fox hosted the show, and entered wearing a red leather jacket in a nod to Michael's costume in the music promo for 'Beat It'.
After the event opened to a medley of Jackson 5 songs - including 'ABC' and 'The Love You Save' - Jamie walked onto the stage to 'Beat It'.
He said:

"No need to be sad. We want to celebrate this black man. We are going to go through all of Michael Jackson."

The singer-and-actor also performed Michael's signature dance move the moonwalk and performed the Jackson 5 hit 'I'll Be There' alongside Stevie Wonder and Ne-Yo as images of the late King of Pop flashed up on a big screen.

Diddy Performs At MGM's Wet Republic

Diddy Performs At MGM's Wet Republic

Sean "Diddy" Combs hosted the ultimate daylife affair at WET REPUBLIC - the ultra pool at MGM Grand. After a long week of filming his new movie "Get Him to the Greek" with co-stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand in Las Vegas, Diddy took time off and spent Saturday afternoon partying at Sin City’s hottest pool party destination. WET REPUBLIC erupted when Diddy arrived on the blue carpet. After arriving at the venue, the music mogul’s first priority was to greet the fans that were lined-up waiting to meet him.

Diddy then resumed the party in one of WET REPUBLIC's bungalows filled with his entourage and beautiful sun worshippers. From his bungalow, Diddy took the daylife party to another level by doing a brief impromptu performance of his smash hit "Last Night" featuring Keyshia Cole.

“We're here at WET REPUBLIC and we're here to set the pool area off,” said Combs. “I'm known for throwing the best parties and whenever I get with the whole MGM family we do it big, we're here to make sure everyone has a good time.”

“I've been out here shooting a movie for the last two weeks, so I'm either going to be here or in Miami, but I'm falling in love with Vegas ...,” he noted about his upcoming plans for Memorial Day weekend.

Looks like fun!

Ellen DeGeneres Confronts Diddy About Lending His House To Rihanna And Chris Brown

Diddy has been in the industry for a long time and sure knows how to get himself out of a corner. Ellen DeGeneres grilled Diddy for lending Chris Brown and Rihanna his house earlier last week.

At first he tried to deflect the question, but she kept on talking to him about it until he responded. In the end, Diddy said he wanted to offer the couple a place where they could work out their problems as he is good friends with both of them.

What do you think about Diddy lending his house to the couple to work out their problems? What about Ellen confronting him on the decision?

Diddy Says Playboy Has Been On Back Burner From Beginning With Aubrey O'Day

“Daily 10” sat down with Sean P. Diddy Combs to talk about Joaquin Phoenix, former Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day and why he left the infamous late night party after a search was initiated.

Regarding Joaquin Phoenix’ rap career, Combs says:

“While I'm out here in the studio working on my stuff,  I'm supposed to be going and we supposed to start talking. I told him he help me with my acting,  Im’a help him with his music. Let’s trade some secrets.  I think that anybody who commits themselves to something that they can do it. I mean you got to understand he did ‘Walk the Line,’ he sung a lot. I'm interested to see you know what he wants to do.”

Regarding firing Aubrey O’Day from Danity Kane:

“I don't have no regrets.  You know the reason why I wanted to put her in the group was because I think she was a star. And I just think that the brand I was trying to create with the girls was definitely with Danity Kane was with a more younger vibe.  And Playboy thing was lurking from way back then so that was one of the frictions that me and her had. That I was hearing that she wanted to do ‘Playboy’ and I was hearing about it a lot you know.  A lot of things that I think was interfering with brand of the group.”

Regarding the recent reports that he left a party because he didn’t want to undergo a gun search, Combs says:

Aretha Franklin And Diddy Launch R&B Singing / Hip Hop Competition

Aretha Franklin And Diddy Launch R&B Singing / Hip Hop Competition

Aretha Franklin and Diddy have launched a new talent show just for R&B singers and Hip Hop rappers. But guess what - it's nothing like American Idol. We won't be able to vote. Only the selected judges will have a say.

"The country will not vote. It will just be me and Diddy voting for who the next star will be."

The weekly show is tentatively planned for 2009.

Truth be told, I am so OVER these competitions. I'm desperate to bring back the scripted show. We need that to be a priority again! I know it's cheaper to run a reality show, but STILL!

Ok... getting off my soap box now. What do you think about this new show? Something you would be interested in watching?
