They take holiday decorating to the next level. They’re not just focused on decorations, however: they are also participating in a charitable challenge that is perfect for the holiday season.
PE Teacher Amber Plummer got something of a shock when one of her students came to her and asked for help losing weight. Her student had gained 78 pounds throughout the academic year, and Amber herself hadn’t even noticed! She thought she was teaching her students to live a healthy lifestyle, but she realized that something needed to change. She developed a class called ‘Girls on the Go.’
I’m choosing Paige Yore’s YouTube video, ‘Pueblo Walmart Changed My Life,’ as the feel good video of the day because it made me think. I’m not sure this is quite a feel good video that will give you the “warm and fuzzies,” but Paige does share an important lesson on why it’s SO important not to judge people: you never know what they’re going through.
This is another incident that shows how a small act of kindness can mean a lot more to people than we realize. Lisa Sarber Aldrich picked up a birthday cake at a Meijer’s in Michigan. She asked someone she thought worked in the bakery if they could write a birthday message, so the person did, and she got the cake above.
Jeff Louis is a pizza delivery guy who was asked to come in early to deliver some pizzas to a church. When he arrived at the church with all the pizzas, he was asked to bring one pizza up to the front of the church, on stage, to the pastor. The pastor had planned to give him a $100 tip.
This is a commercial for the German supermarket chain EDEKA, but it’s making waves on the internet for its poignant reminder about what’s most important during the holidays. Don’t worry, it’s subtitled ;). Check it out after the break.
