Not Everyone Has A Romantic Valentine's Day Planned - Just Ask Gwyneth Paltrow
There is so much hype around this holiday right?
Prior to hubby and I getting married, we typically made a big stink. After our kids were born, we started to celebrate Valentine's Day the weekend before to avoid the jacked up prices NYC restaurants throw out on the big day. This year, I told him to not even buy me a card!
Call me jaded... but I'm exhausted!
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow told the Daily News that she and husband Chris Martin aren't even spending the day together as he is on tour with Cold Play. The actress doesn't seem to mind and can't even say exactly where he is!
"It won’t be that exciting. My
husband will be on tour and I don’t even know where he is - Australia?
- so I’ll be with my kids for Valentine’s Day."

Love It Or Hate It: Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwyneth Paltrow attended the Cinema Society & Salvatore Ferragamo screening of, "Two Lovers" in New York last night wearing high waisted leather dress shorts and a gold top. Gwyneth has certainly kicked up her fashion style and has been experimenting with different looks.
I'm curious what you guys think of this outfit? Are leather high waisted shorts ever a good idea?
And since we are talking about Two Lovers, here is a clip of Joaquin talking to Letterman. He goes at him right away about the beard! Joaquin isn't playing along...

Gwyneth Paltrow Is Amazed Chris Martin Stuck With Her After Her Father's Death
Gwyneth Paltrow doesn't talk much about her marriage so I'm actually kind of surprised to have these quotes from Elle Magazine. She opened up about something very personal...the death of her father (from throat cancer), and said she was amazed by Chris Martin's loyalty to her during this time when she was struggling. He even dedicated some of Coldplay's songs to her.
"It's so hard for me to listen to
some of those songs. I can't listen to Swallowed In The Sea without
crying. I'm amazed he stuck with me, because I was a wreck. I can't
believe that he did."
She also went on record to say that just because we don't see them together, doesn't mean they're breaking up anytime soon.
"It doesn't behove us to be a public couple. So it's just
better if we don't. We will never walk down a red carpet together and
if people think it means we're not together - ha, ha, ha - so be it!"
And on another note, Gwyneth has a message for people that don't like her.
"F**k the haters! I saw this blog of people writing horrible things
about me and, for a second, your ego is so wounded. How could people hate me, my
intentions or what I'm trying to do? I'm a good person and I'm trying
to put good things into the world."
Gwyneth Paltrow Tries To Cheer Madonna Up With Adult Toys
Is your best friend down in the dumps, possibly going through a divorce or relationship troubles? Well, I know just what to do to cheer her up...buy her some sex toys and lingerie!
That's exactly what Gwyneth Paltrow decided to do for Madonna after seeing her struggling after the Guy Ritchie and then A-Rod breakups.
"Gwyneth just wants to see a smile on her face. She has even bought Madonna some sexy Agent Provocateur underwear and toys."
Aside from that, Gwyneth is planning a girls' weekend as well to help Madonna keep her mind off of things.
"She has also planned a special break for her and Madonna, which will take place mostly in London.
The weekend will include some low-key nights at top eateries and bars,
followed by a spa break, probably at Babington House in Somerset."
I have to say that nights spent drinking and eating out doesn't really sound like Madonna or Gwyneth's style. I feel like the perfect day for both of them would probably be spent at the gym for 8 hours and then heading to the spa to detox.

I never really knew where I wanted it to go when I was starting it. I
just thought if I could affect one woman's life positively who was
trying to do all the things I was doing, and I had one solution that
worked for me that might work for her, it was worth it to try and share
it."
She also explains what, exactly, GOOP stands for.
It is a nickname, like my name is G.P., so that is really where it came
from. And I wanted it to be a word that means nothing and could mean
anything."

And as for those of you who don't like her website? (Yeah, I've read some of the comments.)
I think part of the problem is people get a hit of energy when they are
negative about something, and it is a very detrimental way for them to
get that hit of energy. They do not understand why they do not have a
happy life. That kind of stuff is just noise to me. I just feel sorry
for them."

Oprah And Gwyneth Paltrow Talk Weight Loss
Are you on the first day of your new weight loss plan for 2009? Both Oprah Winfrey and Gwyneth Paltrow are talking about losing weight. Oprah discussed it on her TV show while Gwyneth shared her plan on her website, GOOP.
Oprah blames her weight gain on abusing food to handle an unbalanced life.
It's about using food – abusing food. Too much work. Not enough play.
Not enough time to come down. Not enough time to really relax."
She plans to make time in her 14-hour day to exercise. Life moves so fast these days; it really can be a challenge just to find the time.
Gwyneth, meanwhile, is dealing with seasonal weight gain (I'm sure some of you can relate!)
It is that time of year, folks. I need to lose a few pounds of holiday excess. Anyone else?"
She plans to shed the pounds with a detox. Gwyneth utilizes the services of a detox diet specialist, and with that person's advice, created a seven-day detox plan that seems to consist of smoothies, soups, and chicken.
If you are not working with a diet detox specialist, then, as Gwyneth writes, "Make sure you check with your doctor before you start any detox."
