Hugh Laurie And Friends Made Pact To Commit Suicide By 40

Hugh Laurie And Friends Made Pact To Commit Suicide By 40

This is the stupidest thing I've read all year (and believe me, I've read my share of stupid things). Hugh Laurie planned to kill himself before he turned 40... and so did a bunch of his friends.

WHY?!

The ‘House’ actor – who celebrates his 50th birthday in a few weeks time –
and his school friends made a pact to take their own lives because they
thought they would have achieved everything by that age.

“I remember I made a pact with some friends when we were 18 that
we’d kill ourselves before we got to 40. It just seemed such a ludicrously
distant prospect. I think I’d say that you’ll never think you know more or
feel more acutely or have any clearer an insight into existence than you do
right now.”

Despite failing to go through with the suicide pact, Hugh admits his life
hasn’t turned out the way he thought it would.
He added to Britain’s Seven magazine:

“From now on it’s a gradually
descending mist of confusion and doubt. I’ve never known less than I know
now. You hope that your teenage self would like and forgive your 50-year-old
self. It would be awful to think that they’d be ashamed and appalled – that
you were a betrayal of everything they thought they’d become.”

That could be a movie if you thought about it. A pact was made and one person didn't do it. Then the hauntings begin... :)

Better than all these remakes!

Celebrities Arriving To The Late Show With David Letterman

Celebrities Arriving To The Late Show With David Letterman

Hugh Laurie was looking both handsome and scruffy while visiting "The Late Show with David Letterman" to promote his new movie, "Monsters Vs. Aliens" yesterday afternoon. I'm a fan of Hugh's even before his hit show and I always like watching his interviews. There's just something about him... :)

Also spotted arriving was the lovely Christina Applegate there to promote her show "Samantha Who?" along with singer Norah Jones.

FYI: Christina's show returns March 26th and airs at 8:30pm.

Reese Witherspoon At The Premiere Of Monsters Vs. Aliens

Reese Witherspoon At The Premiere Of Monsters Vs. Aliens

Holy Smokes!

Reese Witherspoon kicked up the sexy factor in a mini dress with silver accents and grey and yellow pumps while walking the red carpet for the premiere of "Monsters Vs. Aliens" in Los Angeles this past weekend. I completely love Reese's style - hair, demeanor, dress, make up. You name it!

What do you guys think of her dress? How about those shoes?

Also attending the event were a few of her co-stars on the movie, Kiefer Sutherland, Hugh Laurie, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen, and Jack Black (not a voice in the movie).

In order to get into character for the movie, Reese thought about
Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"They wanted me to sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger or Bruce
Willis. I was like, how do you do that?! The voice got deeper and stronger
and they wanted me to be like an action hero. They had to coach me a lot.

"We got home from seeing the movie for the first time and Ava and Deacon
were like, 'Do the voice! Is it really you?' "

How cute!

In the new Dreamworks film, Reese plays Susan, an ordinary woman who gets
hit by a meteorite and becomes Ginormica.
Reese loved the role so much, she bought her children dozens of Ginormica
action figures.

"I have all the action figures.
As soon as I saw my own action figure, I ripped her out of the box and
started playing with her.
"My kids love it, every morning we play with them. I have to pretend to be a
giant robot."

I'm sure Reese's kids won't let her live this one down for a while.

The sexy Orlando Bloom was in attendance at the annual "Orange British Academy Film Awards" which took place in London yesterday. Not only was the lovely Orlando there, but also Hugh Laurie (House), Daniel Radcliffe, and a bearded Viggo Mortensen. I was so wrapped up in the Grammy's that I completely forgot about this one.Men have no stress when getting ready for an award show. Their formula is so easy!

Let's Give It Up For The Men At The Emmys

We can't forget all the men that came out to celebrate at the Emmys. I am looking all over for a Simon Cowell picture because he was OUT OF CONTROL with his unbuttoned shirt! But for now, let's stick to the well-dressed. Patrick Dempsey, Hugh Laurie, Kiefer Sutherland,  Tony Shalhoub, and Jon Stewart all came dressed for the part.
