Stories about Isaiah Washington

Isaiah Washington Wishes He Used The N-Word

Isaiah Washington told Larry King that he wished he'd use the N-word instead of the F-word during his on-set argument with Patrick Dempsey. If he could do it all over again, he would have chosen his words differently because in the end, that is how he felt. The Showbuzz has more:
"(Dempsey) became unhinged, face to face, spittle in my face. I'm asking him 'why are you sceaming at me?' He became irate. By that time I pushed him out of my face and I began to say 'there's no way you're going treat me like a 'b word,' a 'p word,' or a 'f word' in front of this crew."
Asked by King to explain what three words he meant, Washington said "a four-legged dog" (most likely he meant to say "female" dog); a "punk"; and the anti-gay slur beginning with "f" which he said he used to mean "someone who is being weak, someone who is not treated with respect" rather than a homosexual. Washington thinks the situation would have been different if he had used the "n-word" instead.
"I wish I had said 'You're not going to treat me like an 'n-word' because that's how I felt," he said.

Isaiah Washington Speaks Up

Controversial Grey's Anatomy star Isaiah Washington spoke exclusively with Entertainment Weekly's website EW.com about being fired from the hit ABC drama, his relationship with the show's cast and crew, and his future in Hollywood. I think I am the only person in the world that doesn't watch this show...
---
How are you feeling about what happened last week? Did you think it was fair?
I don't know if it's a question of ''fair.'' I'm saddened by the outcome. I did everything that the producers and the network asked me to do. I came back under great duress and stress, and thought I was doing the job I was hired to do. I thought that was going to speak for my future at Grey's, but apparently that wasn't the same vision that the network and studio had for me.

Why do you think the decision was made by ABC? Was Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes happy about it?
I knew she was aware of the decision. But you have to understand that she's at the helm of one of the top-rated scripted shows on television.

Were you in touch with Shonda after you were fired?
She called me on Thursday of last week [June 7] and told me that I would not be returning to the show. Just like she personally called me and invited me to the show. It was full circle.

When was the last time you talked to Shonda?
Yesterday.

There are rumors you may file a lawsuit against ABC.
I don't know anything about that.

Guess Who Entered A Treatment Facility To Clean His Slate?

In an attempt to make an excuse for his actions, Isaiah Washington has entered a treatment facility to get a psychological evaluation. He even released a statement:
"With the support of my family and friends, I have begun counseling. I regard this as a necessary step toward understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again. I appreciate the fact that I have been given this opportunity and I remain committed to transforming my negative actions into positive results, personally and professionally."

ABC forced him him to take a look at himself. They want to know why he would say such HATEFUL words. Do you think there is something psychologically wrong with him? Or is he just a pig?

Isaiah Washington's Job In Jeopardy Over Gay Slur

I don't know if I even believe that Isaiah Washington SAID the statement that The National Enquirer is reporting was slurred on the set of Grey's Anatomy. But let's just play along and assume he did. Reports came out this morning that Isaiah's job is in jeopardy over something said to Patrick Dempsey during their on set fight last week.
"I'm not your little f-ggot like [name redacted]."  (source)

The name was retracted from Us Weekly's blog. But perhaps he mentioned newly outed T.R. Knight.
"I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there," Knight tells PEOPLE in a statement. "While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me."(source)

Patrick Dempsey And Isaiah Washington Have An On-Set Arguement

NOSE TO NOSE! Screaming! Finger Pointing! This wasn't part of the script. This was Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah Washington arguing over shooting specifics for Grey's Anatomy. Shooting specifics? I could understand if it's about a girl or about their honor (what is this 1493 Japan?) ... but which way the camera is going to catch the scene? Take a deep breath man. It is just your job. Thank goodness no punches were thrown. Washington said it was because "Our faces are too beautiful for that!"
"We were like two baseball players . . . nose-to-nose," Washington tells PEOPLE. "We had a difference of opinions while working on set but we've resolved it.The communication was lost in translation." (source)
