Madonna To Duet With Janet Jackson
Madonna is to duet with Janet Jackson. The two singers are working on a tribute to Janet's late brother Michael Jackson after bonding over dinner after Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), which saw the 'Together Again' star perform 'Scream', a track originally recorded with her sibling, and Madonna make a tearful speech about her regret at "abandoning" the pop icon before his death.
"It was a meeting of two great musical minds. Madonna was so impressed with Janet's tribute to Michael that they started talking about how great it would be to honor him by doing something together.
"With that one performance Janet proved she's back on top of her game. And who better to join forces with than Madonna? There was definitely something very interesting being planned between them."
Speaking at the awards ceremony, which was held in New York, Madonna admitted she was only attending the bash to pay her respects to Michael.
She told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper:
"Now I've finally had chance to say farewell to my dear friend. I can now say I have paid my respects to Michael. That's why I'm here. To say goodbye. And Janet's performance was amazing - just the perfect tribute to her brother."
Madonna's manager Guy Oseary recently revealed that the '4 Minutes' singer had hoped to join Michael on stage during his 'This Is It' London residency.
He wrote on Twitter:
"A month ago, Madonna told me she wanted to do a surprise performance at one of Michael Jackson's UK shows."

Janet Jackson Talks About Losing Michael
In her first interview since Michael Jackson's death, Janet Jackson sat down with Harper's Bazaar. As you can imagine, it's been a difficult couple of months for the singer. One thing she has not done is watched the news. At all.
"It will drive you crazy," she says. "People can have rhinoceros skin, but there's a point when something's going to hurt you. Not everyone is stone, stone. I haven't watched the news in weeks."
Janet said there are parts of Michael's memorial service she doesn't remember, but one moment in Michael's service stood out to her: when his daughter, Paris, spoke.
"I was really proud," Janet recalls. "People said to me that Michael's daughter speaking really gave them a sense of how he was as a father, in her words. Paris is incredibly smart; they are all so smart. She's a sweet girl. The kids are doing well. They're with all their cousins; that family love will keep them going."

Janet Jackson Planning Tell-All Interview
Janet Jackson is planning a tell-all interview about her brother’s death.
The ‘Together Again’ singer has not yet spoken publicly about Michael Jackson’s passing but has agreed to speak to Harper’s Bazaar about her grief.
A source said:
"She is giving them the world exclusive and is going to be on the cover.”
While Janet has not publicly paid tribute to the ‘Thriller’ star – who died of acute Propofol intoxication on June 25 – her sister La Toya recently made an emotional posting on her blog.
She wrote:
"Michael, after 50 years of waiting, God has finally called you home to do what you do best.
"Mike, you will always be in my dreams! I LOVE YOU SO VERY! VERY! VERY! VERY! MUCH!"God shared your extraordinary talent with us all for many decades and now it's time for you to spread your wings to a much higher level, which of course I know you will do, and join the other angels and give them an incredible eternal performance. Keep the angels smiling, Joker! I love you deeply and I can't wait to see you perform again! (sic)"

Janet Jackson Writing Tell-All Book
How timely.
According to In Touch Weekly, Janet Jackson is writing a tell-all book about her famous family. The singer is having a hard time dealing with the death of her brother, Michael Jackson, and is writing the book to help her heal.
The subjects covered will range from her weight and self esteem issues to growing up Jackson.
She is going to talk about Michael's death and how it's affected her and his children and the rest of the family… A lot of it will focus on her battle with self-esteem and weight.
"She's a huge success. But that's not always what she has seen when she looks in the mirror, so the book will talk about how she has coped, and about her family relationships. She wants to help other young women out there.

Janet Jackson And Jermaine Dupri Split
Poor Janet! Not only has she had to cope with the untimely death of her brother, Michael Jackson, but she was also dealing with the end of her seven-year relationship to Jermaine Dupri (at least, according to some of Jermaine's friends). Jermaine's conspicuous absence at Michael's memorial was explained as "he doesn't go to funerals," but it looks like there was more to it than that.
"They have been moving in different directions for a while.
"You shouldn't mix business with pleasure," a mutual pal explains.
(Dupri produced several tracks on her last two CDs.) "Janet felt their
lives were too crossed and they should have kept things separate."
On top of that, Janet and Jermaine were apparently "polar opposites."
"Jermaine likes to be out there, mingling with everybody, and Janet's more shy."
Janet reportedly is keeping herself busy caring for Michael's kids while mourning his death.
"She's devastated," an insider says. "She's busy caring for Michael's kids. Janet's the family's backbone."
Janet's rep could not be reached for comment.
It seems odd that Janet and Jermaine would reach this conclusion after seven years together, but maybe it's for the best. Sometimes things just don't work out.

Fact Or Fiction: Janet Jackson Wants Custody Of Michael Jackson's Kids
Rumor has it that Janet Jackson wants custody of Michael Jackson’s three children.
The late ‘Man in the Mirror’ star had reportedly discussed his wishes for his kids - Prince Michael I, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II, seven, known as ‘Blanket’ – in the event of his death and was even planning to draft a new will to amend custody details.
A source said:
“There was a lot of rifts in the family, but Janet was the one person he spoke to regularly and he made sure the children kept in touch with her too.
“Ultimately, he wanted Janet to look after the children, with help from his mother Katherine, and was planning to draft a new will to reflect those wishes. He trusted Janet implicitly.“When he had health concerns, he had a talk with Janet about how much she meant to him and the children, and how if anything happened to him, he wanted her to make sure the children would be loved and cared for in the same way he was raising them. She told him of course she would.”
Michael’s most recent will, written in 2002, named Katherine as the children’s guardian but Janet – who accompanied the children to their family home to retrieve their belongings after the singer’s death last month – has the support of her siblings in taking over as primary carer.
The source added to Britain’s Grazia magazine:
“The family think this could be a great idea – they are supportive of Katherine, but although she is in good health, she is nearly 80 and they are worried she is not up to the task.
“Janet is blossoming into a woman with tremendous untapped maternal instincts. The children automatically turn to her for comfort and direction.”
