I'm guessing one of the problems in Janet Jackson's and Jermaine Dupri's relationship was communication? While people close to Jermaine say the couple never split, Janet said otherwise in an Atlanta radio interview this morning. Janet told the interviewer she typically doesn't stay in contact with ex-boyfriends, but there are some exceptions.
"I'm not the type of girl that stays in touch with your ex like that," Jackson said.
Dupri, however, seems to be an exception. "Jermaine is one of my best friends," she said in a sleepy voice. "I love him to death. We're still connected. We're still good friends. We still talk."
According to Us Weekly, Janet and Jermaine "took a break" after they disagreed about her music career. (Huh? Okay...) Apparently they reunited for Jermaine's birthday party last September, but it sounds like the couple still has significant issues.
"There is a still a lot of love there," a pal close to the pal recently told Us Weekly.
"We're there for one another," Jackson said of Dupri. "I think it will remain that way for the rest of my life."
Well, sometimes it works this way for couples. They were together for eight years.

This is according to People, at least. The two were rumored to have split around the time of Michael Jackson's untimely death, fueled in part by Janet Jackson telling Harper's Bazaar she was "single" and Jermaine Dupri's apparent absence last summer.
"They never really broke up," a source tells PEOPLE. "Jermaine wanted to give her some space when Michael died."
That sounds rather odd, but everyone grieves differently. Although Janet and Jermaine may still be dating, don't take it too far and assume a wedding is in the works.
"They've been saying that for years and you don't see a ring on my finger," [Jermaine] told PEOPLE on Friday at a Prive Las Vegas party to launch his Nu Pop Movement watch line. "I guess it just sounds good to have that rumor this time of the year or something."
Maybe they just hit a rough patch? Either way, I'm glad to see this long-term couple back together!

Janet Jackson And Jermaine Dupri Split
Poor Janet! Not only has she had to cope with the untimely death of her brother, Michael Jackson, but she was also dealing with the end of her seven-year relationship to Jermaine Dupri (at least, according to some of Jermaine's friends). Jermaine's conspicuous absence at Michael's memorial was explained as "he doesn't go to funerals," but it looks like there was more to it than that.
"They have been moving in different directions for a while.
"You shouldn't mix business with pleasure," a mutual pal explains.
(Dupri produced several tracks on her last two CDs.) "Janet felt their
lives were too crossed and they should have kept things separate."
On top of that, Janet and Jermaine were apparently "polar opposites."
"Jermaine likes to be out there, mingling with everybody, and Janet's more shy."
Janet reportedly is keeping herself busy caring for Michael's kids while mourning his death.
"She's devastated," an insider says. "She's busy caring for Michael's kids. Janet's the family's backbone."
Janet's rep could not be reached for comment.
It seems odd that Janet and Jermaine would reach this conclusion after seven years together, but maybe it's for the best. Sometimes things just don't work out.

It's always nice to see this couple out and about. They've been together for SO long and Janet... well, she's one of the great ones.

Jermaine Dupri Says Travis Barker Will Be Released From Hospital In Two Weeks
Well, this sounds more like the truth. The other day, it was reported that DJ AM was released from the hospital and took the bus home to LA. FISHY and debunked!
But Jermaine Dupri has told People that Travis Barker has about two more weeks left of his hospital stay. In the meantime, friends and family are doing all they can to keep the rocker comfortable.
"He’s doing good, he’s gonna be all right. He’s just got a lot of healing to do. He’s supposed to send a message out to everybody in a couple of days
to let everybody know that he’s feeling better. He’s definitely feeling
the love from everyone.
"He’s just now getting everything in the hospital set up for him -
iPods, computers, everything that he needs. You got to make sure he is
comfortable."

It is a pretty safe bet that you will never hear the below words come out of my mouth. Janet Jackson had issues with Jermaine Dupri paying for everything when the first started dating. Hmmnnn... really not an issue for me. Like... not even a little bit.
She explains, "I was never used to having someone take care of me... That made me really uncomfortable."I've been taking care of myself my whole life - I even paid my school tuition at a very young age.
"And when I was married (to JAMES DeBARGE and RENE ELIZONDO), I took care of us. I thought that was the way life was."I never desired to have anybody take care of me, so to have a man do things for me was very different. I thought, 'I can't do this.'

Jermaine Dupri let it slip that he and Janet Jackson are planning to get married this September while talking to a friend behind the scenes at the ESPYS. I'm gonna wait until a rep confirms this story before I start looking for her registry.
