Do We Really Need Another Weight Loss Reality Show?
Looks like NBC has confirmed another weight loss reality show program with Jillian Michaels No, it isn't 'The Biggest Loser 2'... it's called 'Losing It with Jillian'. The program will feature a "new family each week trying to change their lives -- physically, mentally, even financially".
So what' the difference?
"Biggest Loser is the last resort ... our show is an intervention," Michaels told TVGuide.com. "I wanted an opportunity to ... [go] to people's homes and [teach] them in their own environment."
Jillian is teaming up with Chef Curtis Stone, another reality show regular, who will provide nutritional information to the contestants. I LOVE Curtis! If only he would find me in a supermarket so I can take him home and have him cook me a meal. :)
What do you think about 'Losing it with Jillian'? Will you be tuning in?

Biggest Loser Trainer Jillian Michaels Being Sued Over Diet Claims

'The Biggest Loser's' feisty trainer, Jillian Michaels, is not finding too much to cheer about today. A class action lawsuit was filed today against her, claiming that the Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Calorie Control dietary supplement is "worthless."
According to TMZ, the suit alleges:
"Sadly, Michaels has decided to exploit her fame and goodwill by collaborating with Thin Care and Basic Research to promote a weight loss supplement that purportedly will cause weight loss by itself, without any additional effort on the part of the consumer."
The lawsuit asks for an injunction that would prevent the sale of the product and also asks for damages.
I've never read any of the information on her supplements to know if she does claim the things they are crying foul on. I don't mean to be snarky, but I can't imagine anyone assuming that a supplement is going to cause weight loss with no other effort. Isn't it common sense that you need to exercise and eat less, no matter what extra "thing" you try? Usually these supplements are just to help suppress your appetite, from what I understand.
What do you think? Are they just trying to bring some drama for Jillian? Or do you think they might truly have a case?

Jillian Michaels Opens Up To Ladies' Home Journal About Finding Healthy Love

She’s the tough-as-nails trainer on The Biggest Loser, but Jillian Michaels wants you to know she’s got a softer side. The best-selling author and host of her own NBC show this spring sat down with Ladies’ Home Journal to discuss love, reality TV and how she got from overweight 13-year-old to television’s most notable foe of flab.
On the manipulative side of reality TV: “The Biggest Loser is like a funhouse mirror. I’ve loved the show and the platform it has given me, but still, it is the nature of reality TV to manipulate. You never see what’s going on in its entirety. For every 10 minutes we’re on the show, acting like insane people, there are a hundred hours of training you don’t see. The stretching, the icing. Nobody wants to watch that.”
Admitting concern about safety of her contestants: “You’re the fifth person to say that to me this week. And you’re not wrong. The contestants keep getting bigger and bigger. As the trainers we have no say over the challenges. We worry about them too.”
On being open to healthy love: “Let’s just say I believe in healthy love. If I fall in love with a woman, that’s awesome. If I fall in love with a man, that’s awesome. As long as you fall in love…it’s like organic food. I only eat healthy food, and I only want healthy love!”
There's a few more quotes after the jump. Click on the continue reading link below to see the rest of the interview.
On being an overweight and angry teen: “I lived on junk food. I had no direction. Once I punched a hole in our wall. Another time I stole a car….[My father and I] sort of bonded over food. When he was alone with me and we had nothing to say to each other, it would be like, ‘Let’s eat a pizza!’”
Tiger Woods' Alleged Affair Count Is Up To 13

Can we even keep up anymore? I lost count of the women who have come forward in this Tiger Woods cheating scandal but now we're being told that #13 has come forward! THIRTEEN? It's being alleged that he had a fairly long relationship with yet another porn star!
had a lengthy affair with porn star Joslyn James (real name: Veronica Siwik-Daniels) during visits to Las Vegas.
Some "experts" say he should come forward and give an apology to his wife, etc. so that he can try to hold on to some of his endorsements but others think it's too late and he should just stay mum. Barbara Walters was on Letterman last night and she said he could've done some damage control had he come out right away but she thinks he's waited too long and now should just stay quiet. What do you think? Do you care to hear anything he has to say? Is it really the public's business what goes on in their bedroom?
Also, in related Tiger Woods news - Jillian Michaels blasted the golfer, saying that he once hit on her friend!
"He put the moves on a very good friend of mine," Jillian says.
"I knew he was an ass**** ages ago, I did," she said at the Biggest Loser season-eight finale in LA on Tuesday night. "Sorry. I didn't need to watch the news to find that out."
Yikes! When other public figures/celebrities/peers are saying they know he was a cheater, it kind of makes it more believable, ya know? My heart goes out to his wife and children. What a mess.

Jillian Michaels Says Oprah Has It All Wrong

Jillian Michaels likes to just shoot from the hip and not mince words! She was interviewed for Health Magazine's November issue and conveyed her thoughts on a few subjects from Oprah to organics to why she has her own personal trainer!
if there’s someone I think is utterly misguided, it would be Oprah Winfrey. She says she had a thyroid problem and ate soy, and I’m like, How? Where is Dr. Oz? She’s just so misinformed, it is shocking to me on a daily basis. Soy is terrible for you [if you have thyroid issues].”
People familiar with Jillian's "ways" might know that she's a huge advocate of organic foods and products. When asked about ways people can improve their health:
“Go organic. That would be the one thing—it’s not even exercise. Our food is corn derivatives, food derivatives and chemicals. It is making us fat and sick.”
Jillian is also huge on fitness - not just walking. I can hear her voice on the "Shred" dvd - "when someone tells you just take the stairs - it is a false message of lethargy".
"We sell ourselves short when it comes to capability and potential. We read on the treadmill. We walk. People will be like, ‘I’ve been walking.’ And I’m like, ‘Really, Really?’ ‘OK, you walked to the car, and then to the door at the mall, and then you took the stairs, too? Come on, man.’ If I can take a 66-year-old man and train him six hours a day, six days a week, you can do more than just take the stairs! People have no concept of what the human body is really designed to do. They have no concept of their strength! And they function in a zone that is well below what their potential really is.”
She's far from perfect and will admit that she KNOWS how hard it is to keep yourself motivated to do it every single day. She shared the area of her life that she struggles in:

Jillian Michaels Gets New TV Show - 'Losing It With Jillian'

This is actually exciting! Jillian Michaels certainly knows what she is doing and now families across America can invite the trainer into their home to help get their unit back on track. Celebrity chef Curtis Stone (yes, the same guy who is filming the Apprentice) will take part as well.
"Losing It With Jillian" will follow the host as she moves in with families to help change their diet and exercise habits. Reveille and Empowered Media are producing. NBC has ordered eight segs of the series.
"I hear all the time from people about 'Oh, it'd be so easy to do if I was on the ranch, if I had a personal gym,' " Michaels said of "The Biggest Loser's" weight-loss success stories. "I got sick of hearing it. So we're telling people, we'll come to you and teach you how to be healthy."
Jillian says that you don't have to be morbidly obese to take part in the new show AND she will remain on 'The Biggest Loser' while filming.
One more thing to clarify. I WILL be staying with Biggest Loser as well. My show is different. You do not need to be morbidly obese to apply! You can be a couple as well as a family. But... be careful what you wish for. Living with me is no walk in ...the park ;)
Would you consider trying out? You couldn't get me to invite Jillian into my home with a camera following us for a million bucks! LOL!
Jillian Michaels On The View
While Sherri Shepherd COMPLETELY steals the show on this video, I still have to point out that I own the 30 Day Shred after a great recommendation from my best friend. I did it on Friday, and still can't move a muscle this morning... guess I didn't stretch enough (or work out enough in the past 15 years).
Nevertheless, it's 20 minutes and that sounds about right for me. Here is The Biggest Loser's Jillian Michaels talking about her newest product for purchase.
