John Mayer Talks About Working With Taylor Swift

John Mayer Talks About Working With Taylor Swift

John Mayer's new album was released today - his first in 3 years. He sat down with the Fuse network to talk about the album and why he chose to work with Taylor Swift for one of his songs.

"Keeping with the Tom Petty context, I'd written a song that was really straight up, melodic, to-the-point chorus and I was thinking that if I, in my little imagination, that I'm Tom Petty when I'm singing this song, then who's Stevie Nicks?" he tells the Fuse network.

"And I'm very strange about getting other people to perform on my records because I want those records to be around forever and I don't know what someone else is going to do in their life. I was confident that this was not a gimmick just to sell a record and that was evidence by her coming in and us having a great time in the studio. Where she is is just fantastic."

You can catch John tonight on Fuse and send Tweets during the broadcast.

"Fuse Presents: John Mayer Live from the Beacon Theatre." Viewers can also be a part of the broadcast by participating in "Who Says: Tweets on TV," which invites fans to post tweets using #mayeronfuse for their chance to see their tweets on-air.

Have you heard John's song with Taylor yet? Did you pick up or download the album today? Do you plan to?

John Mayer Defends Britney Spears' Lip-Synching Scandal

John Mayer Defends Britney Spears' Lip-Synching Scandal

John Mayer has defended Britney Spears for lip-synching in Australia. The ‘Gravity’ singer – who is also in Australia promoting his latest album – blasted fans who had called for a refund after the ‘Womanizer’ star’s show in Perth after she sparked outrage by not singing live for her whole performance.

“If you're shocked that Britney was lip-syncing at her concert and want your money back, life may continue to be hard for you."

Britney, 27, was said to have hid in her hotel room on Saturday following her performance on Friday night. A representative for the star said:

"Britney is aware of all this and she's extremely upset by it."

In response to the show fans protested about the high ticket prices and “impersonal” nature of the show. Concertgoer Wendy Di Renzo, 36, said:

"It was so impersonal. She did not interact with her audience. There were no big TV screens projecting the action, so if you didn't know Britney, you might have even doubted it was her."

Complaints against the ‘Gimme More’ singer also included that she never referred to Perth by name, instead giving a generic welcome to fans, saying: "What's up Australia?"

Another fan, who left the show early, said:

"I want my money back or I want her to sing properly. The ticket cost me $200 and she lip-synched the whole thing."

Britney will next perform in Melbourne on November 11.

What do you think about this uproar? She's been doing this since the beginning of her career. I wonder why it's suddenly become such a problem for concert goers?

Fact Or Fiction: Jennifer Aniston And John Mayer Are Back On

Fact Or Fiction: Jennifer Aniston And John Mayer Are Back On

This just seems so... improbable to me, but if you'd told me that Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer were going to date three or four years ago, I'd have laughed in your face, so what do I know? According to Us Weekly (in their cover story), Jennifer and John are dating again.

A source close to Mayer, 31, tells the new issue of Us, "They are very close. They remain great friends. He thinks she's amazing, nice and smart, and he has nothing but respect for her."

Although they dined separately in NYC on Sept. 22, a source tells Us they met later that night at the Four Seasons Hotel. Other reports have claimed they've been texting each other and recently dined with Aniston intimates Courteney Cox and David Arquette.

Aniston, 41, has said she "deeply, deeply cares" about Mayer, whose next album, Battle Studies, hits stores Nov. 17.

Seconds a source to Us: "There's something about John that she just can't resist."

Maybe I've just become too jaded, so I'll ask: should I be skeptical of the fact that John's new album (and it's release date) was mentioned in the article?

What do you think: fact or fiction?

First Listen: Who Says By John Mayer

Take a listen to 'Who Says' by John Mayer and let me know what you think. He truly is an amazing artist. I just wish we didn't know so much about his personal life. It almost changes your opinion on him, right?

I wish John would follow Leonardo DiCaprio's footsteps and just stay out of the public eye as much as possible. I think of John and I think of his past high profile relationships and don't immediately focus on his music. It shouldn't be that way. He's too talented to be this tainted.

Kristin Cavallari Rejected John Mayer

Kristin Cavallari Rejected John Mayer

'The Hills' star Kristin Cavallari is again responding to the rumors that she hooked up with singer John Mayer. Not only have they never dated, according to Kristin, but they only met once and when John did ask her out, she turned him down.

"I didn't want to be another notch on his belt," Cavallari, 22, told Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM Tuesday.

I can't wait to read John's tweets about this revelation- LOL.

Kristin also admitted that she and Audrina Patridge don't get along.

"I get along with everybody except for Audrina," Cavallari says, hinting that the animosity might have stemmed from the time she's spent with an ex-boyfriend of Patridge's. "I don't not like Audrina. I don't think she likes me."

Well, Kristin certainly doesn't hold anything back, does she?
