Angelina Jolie Is Back In Contact With Her Father
Angelina Jolie has been estranged from her father, actor Jon Voight, for quite some time now (reportedly over his cheating on her mother, Marcheline Bertrand). According to UK paper The Sun, she has finally started to have some contact with him after she concluded "families have to be earned."
"We're in contact now and writing letters. My parents gave me a strong social conscience as well as any acting genes I may have. Both my parents were very focused on helping other people and supported charities all their lives."
However, one thing Angelina is determined not to do is raise her children the way she was raised.
"I don't want them raised as children who have 'movie star' parents. I grew up around that myself and I want to make sure ours are removed from it."
Good luck with that! Actually, all kidding aside, they do seem to have as normal a lifestyle as they can with their careers and all the traveling.

Angelina Jolie's Film Debut Set To Be Re-Released
Apparently, Angelina Jolie made her big screen debut at the age of five in a movie called 'Lookin' to Get Out.' She played the daughter of her real-life father, Jon Voight. However, the film flopped at the box office at the time. Jon is re-releasing the movie on DVD this Tuesday.
Hal [Ashby, the director] was working on two other films at the time (of the movie's
release), and there was a lot of drama. Our film was handed over to
other editors, and the result was a crippled movie. We were very hurt
by the reception.""I was a co-writer and co-producer, so I had a lot to say about the
casting... Angie was terrific, very well-prepared. I wasn't looking for
any signs whether she'd be an actress... Hal's hand is in every single
frame. Finally, this is the film he intended. It's like a message in a
bottle."
Well, it's a perfectly legitimate thing to do.

Jon Voight Joins The Cast Of 24
Just SEEING those numbers gets me giddy! I cannot WAIT. Now that LOST is over and done with, I'm waiting for my other favorite show to come back on air. New casting news has just been released for 24 and Jon Voight is on the payroll.
"I am thrilled and excited about being invited to be part of my favorite show 24. I’m hoping to bring my very best to it."
I automatically thought he was going to play the head of CTU but it turns out Jon has signed on as a villain. He will make his first appearance during a two-hour prequel episode that will
air in November ahead of the series’ seventh season premiere.
