Mischa Barton Has A Rough Time On The View

We've already heard that Mischa Barton blamed her hospitalization on pain caused by complications from dental surgery. She repeated this explanation on 'The View' this morning, and the hosts apparently pressed her on that explanation.
Calling her hospitalization "silly," despite being "completely overwhelmed" by her situation, [Mischa], trying to deflect attention away from the subject, says on the program, "I mean, really, it was blown out of proportion, so it's kind of silly now to be talking about it because I'm so fine now, but it was really just a bad time for me," ABC News reports.
When Barbara Walters reportedly pointed out that the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center psychiatric ward "was not just any facility," Mischa repeated her explanation that she was suffering extreme pain after having her wisdom teeth removed.
Joy Behar then asked why Mischa had to be treated in the psychiatric unit if her problem was related to pain from dental surgery, and Mischa gave the following explanation:
"When they take you into the hospital for something when it goes really wrong if you're having a meltdown and you say something like 'I feel like I want to die' ... they start injecting you with things to calm down. Like I'm petrified of needles. Like absolutely petrified ... you can't come anywhere ... I had my blood drawn once in my life for my insurance."
Barton now insists all is well. "I just figure that if you hit rock bottom like that ... and you're around people, you know, you realize I'm nothing like these people," she says, before going into a fairly rambling recap of her experience.
"Anyway, I got really healthy since then," Barton adds.
I can't imagine having to discuss something so personal on national television! It sounds like Mischa was thrown off a little by the questioning. Yet she is working on her new show, 'The Beautiful Life,' so it looks like Mischa is doing better.

Joy Behar Calls Off Her Engagement

Don't feel to bad for 'The View' co-host Joy Behar. She may not be getting married to longtime companion Steve Janowitz, but she does have a new TV show. (And no, she isn't leaving 'The View.')
"I'm getting my own talk show on HLN, so I don't have to get married anymore," Joy Behar is quoted as announcing...
"Actually, I got cold feet again, so I don't know what I'm going to do.
It's off the table. What'll happen is, when I decide to do it, I'll do
it, and then everybody will know I did it. I can't make up my mind."
It sounds like all of this is tongue-in-cheek. I suspect Joy and Steve have been together for so long at this point that whether their relationship is legalized or not doesn't make a big difference to them ;)

Celebrities At The Welcome To Gulu Exhibition

This post is so timely!!! I just spent the last three days re-watching the X-Men series and falling in love with Famke Janssen all over again. At the end of last night's movie, I went on and on about how Famke doesn't work as much as I would like her to until my husband finally told me to let it go.
This morning I wake up to find her FINALLY attending a public event. Famke stays VERY low key. We typically only get a photo of her when she is walking her dog. Never shopping, never on the red carpet... under the radar as happy as can be.
Thank goodness for last night's event!
Nicolas Cage, Alec Baldwin, Famke Janssen along with 'The View' co-host Joy Behar all came out to view the 'Welcome to Gulu' exhibition held at United Nations in New York last night. I think one of the perks to being a celebrity is the chance to be able to go to all these wonderful art openings, Broadway plays, and even The White House Correspondents Dinner. What a history to share with your children!
If you were somehow able to attend any one event on opening night which would it be? I definitely wouldn't mind the Met Gala!
