Kate Moss' Skinny Comment Causes Concern In The UK

Kate Moss has sparked controversy after being accused of making comments which could promote extreme slimming. The supermodel caused outrage after revealing she tries to live by the motto "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels".
She said in an interview on fashion news website WWD:
"There are loads of mottos. There's, 'Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels'. That's one of them. You try and remember, but it never works."
Similar phrases can be found on pro-anorexia websites such as Starving For Control which carries the slogan "nothing tastes as good as thin feels".
The 35-year-old British beauty - who has a seven-year-old daughter, Lila Grace - has now been accused of encouraging young people to develop eating disorders.
Dr Anthea Fursland, a psychologist who specializes in treating eating disorders, told the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper:
"The term is used in anorexia websites to reinforce to themselves and each other to pursue thinness.
"I think it could have quite a large impact having someone so famous saying that. She is just giving credence to a belief that we are trying to move away from. If they're at the cusp and feeling vulnerable, that might send them back into the pursuit of thinness."
Model Katie Green - who launched the Say No To Size Zero campaign in the UK earlier this year - also blasted Kate's remarks, warning that websites which encourage eating disorders will "go crazy" over her comments, believing she supports their cause.
"There are 1.1 million eating disorders in the UK alone. Kate Moss's comments are likely to cause many more. If you read any of the pro-anorexia websites they go crazy for quotes like these."
What do you think about Kate's "skinny" comment? Will it encourage anorexia?

Kate Moss To Branch Into Beauty

For years Kate Moss has been an incredible force in the modeling industry. She's one of the most successful ladies of modeling and can turn anything she touches into gold. But that's not enough for Kate. Rumor has it that Kate is looking to become more of a businesswoman.
“I want to know what goes on behind the scenes, as well, and how to be successful at that part of the industry.”
Kate already has a successful clothing line for Top Shop and just released her latest fragrance titled Vintage. But one thing she doesn't have is a cosmetics line.
“I’ve been modelling for 20 years. Somebody can do my makeup; I don’t even have to look in a mirror to know what it looks like because I just know what it feels like on my face”
As for her contribution to the new rumored cosmetics collection, Kate says that she wants to be very involved in the process.
“It’s fun for me,” she said. “I still model, and I enjoy doing that, as well. Working on the creative process is really interesting for me because I do know what I like, so it’s fun for me to realize that it becomes part of you. It’s not just putting your name on something; it’s about being very involved in it.”
I definitely loved Kate's holiday collection for Top Shop so I'm excited about this possible cosmetic line. I'm sure she has a lot to offer!

Kate Moss Talks About New Scent - Vintage

Kate Moss sat down with Women’s Wear Daily’s Brid Costello to discuss her new scent Vintage, which was introduced in Europe earlier this month.
On the fragrance’s genesis – her love for vintage fashion – has much more humble origins: “I couldn’t really afford designer clothes when I was young, so I just went to the secondhand shops. It wasn’t called vintage then, It was called ‘secondhand’ when I was 15.”
On defining beauty: “It sounds really corny, but I think that if you’re beautiful inside, it shows on the outside for sure. You can be a pretty face, but if your not a nice person it just doesn’t work. I’m not traditionally a beauty, but apparently people think I’m all right. If you’re a nice person, it definitely helps.”
On if she has a motto: “There are loads. There’s “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.” That’s one of them. You try and remember, but it never works.”
On the secrets to multitasking: “I think women are really good at multitasking. Men just cannot do it. My boyfriend cannot talk on the phone and [answer] if I ask him a question or get dressed at the same time. I can do all of that – talk on the phone, answer a question, get dressed and put my makeup on all at the same time. Women just do, don’t they? I think it’s something to do with babies. When you have a child, you have to be able to multi task.
