Kate Winslet Is Too Emotional For The Oscars
After forgetting Angelina Jolie's name in her acceptance speech during the Golden Globes, Kate Winslet's emotions became headline news. Because of that Kate says she's just not cut out for the Oscars.
I get very emotional about these things, I discover. I think I'm not
cut out for this. I'm too emotional to lose, and I'm too emotional to
win.
She wonders if she'll ever learn how to deal with this time of the year.
I sort of wish there was some lessons in how to cope with awards
seasons, even though I've gone through it so many times before. It
always feels like the first time.
Personally, I don't care too much who actually wins an Oscar or who doesn't. It's all about the fashion on the red carpet for me. Get me a bowl of popcorn and let's start dissecting dresses. :)
Kate Winslet Confused Children With German Accent
Now THAT I would pay to see! Can you imagine Kate Winslet's children looking at their mother as she read their bedtime story with a German accent. They probably didn't hear a word she said! LOL
While filming The Reader, Kate worked hard on perfecting her German accent and practiced every moment she could.
"They got mightily fed up with me reading bedtime stories with a German
accent. They said, ‘Mum, just be plain. Don’t do any funny stuff like
voices. Just be regular.’ Then I had to say, ‘But, I’m not regular and
I’m never going to be regular. When you’re a teenager you’re going to
know that it’s cool.’"
I wonder how old the children will have to be before they realize how talented and famous their mother really is.
Kate Winslet Won't Diet And Exercise During Awards Season
You'd think most actresses would be freaking out trying to hit the gym during awards season, since the pressure to look perfect on the red carpet has to be ENORMOUS. But, not Kate Winslet. Dieting and exercising adds to much stress to her life, so for now, she's cut it out.
"To be honest with you, I’m more nervous through this award season than
I have ever been before in my life. I’m still not used to it at all."To keep her sanity, Winslet has decided not to put any undue pressure
on herself, saying she's "not exercising at all, and I’m eating
whatever I like....Pressure? Gone! That's how I'm going to get through it."
If that's what NOT dieting and exercising will do to a body, sign me up! :P
Is E! For Real?
Did Giuliana really just ask this set of questions to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt? I mean, I can't even accept this. Everyone else she had a chance to interview started and ended with,
- Who are you wearing?
- Who are you looking forward to meeting tonight?
But when Angelina and Brad are up, she starts asking what they've learned from being with one another etc..? WHAT? Is this Oprah or the glam cam?
The only appropriate question was about what the children do when they are getting ready. Everything else was one big awkward stretch. And watch how Angelina's body language lets Giuliana know she's walking down the wrong path.
At least BRAD says "Next question" - let's keep it nice and airy. Too deep for where they were.

Kate Winslet And Sam Mendes Never Fly Together
While in theory this makes sense, I don't think I could ever do what Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes do while traveling. In order to ensure someone is always safe for the children, the actress and her husband will not take the same plane while on a trip. Their spokesperson says,
Where possible, Kate and Sam do prefer to travel in separate planes. It is not always possible but, for obvious reasons regarding the children, they do travel separately when they can.
In case you are finding this to be a bit much, I have to tell you that Sam was "originally booked on the ill-fated American Airlines flight
77 from Washington Dallas International Airport to LA" on September 11th. All 64 people were killed on that flight, so I can understand where the fear comes from.
Is this something you and your spouse/ significant other do while traveling? It makes SENSE I suppose.

Kate Winslet Confuses Leo With Her Real Husband
It's not how it sounds! Actress Kate Winslet confessed on a British show that she has been promoting her movie, Revolutionary Road, so much that her on-screen husband, Leonardo DiCaprio, feels like her real husband (director Sam Mendes)!
'[Leonardo] feels more like my husband than my real husband,' she tells Britain’s GMTV. 'I’m talking about him so much.' "
Should Sam be worried, considering that Kate has kissed the guy (as part of her role)? It doesn't sound like it. Here's how Kate described kissing her co-star.

Kate seems way too grounded to confuse her in-character feelings for real life, which is a good thing for Sam, I imagine!
