Julianne Moore, Katie Couric, and Julianna Margulies Give Back

Julianne Moore, Katie Couric, and Julianna Margulies all sat down with Ladies Home Journal to talk about giving back to the community and why they chose the causes they did.
Julianne supports Save the Children. Here's why:
"I went to so many different schools—wealthy ones in counties like Westchester and Fairfax, but also schools in remote areas like Nebraska and Alaska. I saw extreme poverty—the full socioeconomic range. And it became clear to me that not everyone gets a fair shot. It was incredibly disturbing. People always assume that being a mother motivated me, but it was my experience as a child that did it."
Julianne also talked about using her celebrity to promote her cause:
"Because of this ridiculous celebrity I have, I'm able to draw attention to a cause I care about. Children cannot help themselves. They need our help, and that's what this is about."
Katie supports colon cancer awareness and research for a cure.
"I try to appreciate every day that I am healthy. But it also makes me frustrated and angry that we haven't slayed this dragon yet.
"Getting involved in the fight against colon cancer offset the helplessness I felt. My daughters got involved, too. They would have bake sales or lemonade stands and all the money would go to colon-cancer research."
Katie talked about getting a colonoscopy on TV in 2000.
"I've heard every colonoscopy joke there is. People might feel like, 'Shut up already. Here she is, talking about colons again.' But I think the benefits far outweigh the negatives."
Julianna became interested in Project A.L.S., which is for Lou Gehrig's disease, after a friend received the diagnosis.

Katie Couric's Nice-Girl Image Soon Will Shatter

Ed Klein is writing a tell-all book about the truth behind Katie Couric's friendly mask. It seems this girl can't get a break. Her new show "CBS Evening News" isn't doing as well as expected and now all her old co-worker's are spilling the beans on her true colors. An insider at NBC, her former network, said, "Ed has been making the rounds, dialing for dollars, over here. And pretty much everyone is talking - not on the record, but they are talking, and it isn't nice. They are drudging up stuff that will be a nightmare for her. She wasn't very nice for a long time when she was here." (source) Could this be the beginning of the end? Does anyone really even care?
Did You Get To See Suri Cruise?

I am so pissed I missed it. It isn't anywhere on You Tube yet. I am patiently waiting to see the first shots of Suri Cruise that debuted on Katie Couric's new show, CBS Evening News. It will all be over soon enough. Vanity Fair is moments away from being released to the public.
The first woman to fly solo as anchor of a network evening news program delivered her premiere show on Tuesday - “ and with her for the ride was Suri Cruise.
Katie Couric, the new star of the CBS Evening News, unveiled not only the new face of the network's newscast - “ her own - “ but the public's very first look at the nearly 5-month-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who bears a strong resemblance to her mom.
Previewing the cover shot of the new Vanity Fair magazine, Couric said: "After much speculation as to why she's been undercover for so long, here is proof positive that, yesiree, she does exist." No further details about the baby were given, beyond the fact that Annie Liebovitz shot the photos of her. (source)
