LOVE getting new pics of Kelly Clarkson! Here she is with a few friends after enjoying some Japanese cuisine at Koi, one of Hollywood's many hotspots. She looks a little surprised to see all the attention she received. Such a down to earth / genuine person.

Imagine being able to say you sang for the Pope? Not many people can own that title! Kelly Clarkson was honored for the invite and it is an experience she will never forget.

"I was so excited to be asked to sing for the Pope. It's always been a dream of mine to perform Ave Maria. To have that dream come true on such a special occasion is truly a blessing."

Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne are both out on tour right now.  I believe Avril is just starting while Kelly is already wrapping things up.  Both ladies look pretty into things up on stage...seeing singers put on their performance faces cracks me up!

If you were a celebrity, would you buy the rags and read blogs to see what people thought of you? I don't know if I could resist. I'm a glutton for punishment, so I think I would become a bit obsessed with finding the trash talkers. Kelly Clarkson, on the other hand, is a bit smarter than me and stays away from it all. She knows that she is missing out on some praise... but Kelly rather avoid all the negativity to help stay sane.

"I don't watch much TV, I'm actually quite a reader. I don't really read magazines and when I say don't really, I don't. I don't want to read anything good or bad, because when you see the good you have to see the bad. I don't want a big head and I also don't want to be depressed. So I kind of live in my own bubble and take care of myself."

I am so happy I came across these pictures because all this American Idol madness is reminding me of Kelly Clarkson and how much I am neglecting her! I love it when they show clips of Kelly coming out of her original audition before all of this happened to her. We haven't had new shots of Kelly Clarkson in months! Here she is performing on Sunrise singing her heart out.  Looks like she gained a few pounds.  Not that it matters - she is such an amazing singer.
