Kelly Clarkson Battled Bulimia

Kelly Clarkson admitted to CosmoGirl that she once was bulimic. She was trying out for a role in a school play and thought losing a few pounds would work to her advantage. Thankfully, a good friend confronted her and she snapped out of it. Now she is just trying to remain positive about her normal weight. It mustn't be easy for Kelly to hear the constant criticism about her current size. Hollywood's standards are just so IMPOSSIBLE. We need more average-sized girls to help the next generation realize that it isn't always about working hard to fit into a size zero.
"I thought...If I came back and I'm cuter and thinner...then I'll get the role." For six months, Clarkson was bulimic, until a friend discovered her problem. "One of my guy friends caught on to it, and I just felt so ashamed and embarrassed," she tells the mag. "I literally went cold turkey and snapped out of it."
Since her bout with bulimia in high school, Clarkson has worked hard to foster a positive body image, for herself and others. "I've got a butt, I'm Greek- I can't help that. And I think it's good for people to see normal."
Kelly Clarkson Cancels Summer Tour

Sadly enough, Kelly Clarkson's summer tour is officially canned. Apparently, not enough of her fans bought tickets to watch her perform. Kelly had this to say on her official website:
"In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won't be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon. But I promise you that we're going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better."
As we all know, Kelly parted ways with her manager two days ago and has already hired Paul Freundlich to take his place. They are going to reevaluate the arenas they've chosen and look for much smaller venues.
"The day when she will play in sold-out arenas is, no doubt, coming, but for now her fans should look forward to seeing her in a more intimate concert environment," Gregg Perloff, CEO of concert promoter Another Planet Entertainment, said in the statement. "Kelly deserves a tremendous amount of praise for her courage in not only being a part of, but in supporting, this difficult decision."
So don't worry NICK! New dates will release soon enough.
Kelly Clarkson In Elle Magazine

Elle's July Music Issue hits newsstands tomorrow. But you don't have to wait to hear what Kelly Clarkson has to say about having children and how her success is not affecting who she is. INO has the sneak peak below.
- On not wanting children: "My point of view is that I shouldn't be a mother at all, because I'd be horrible. I'm not willing to be that selfless."
- On marriage: "I'm not keen on marriage. I don't let many people in. Men come and go. Friends are what I care about."
- On her "type': "I can't stand pretty boys. The guys I date are the just-rolled-out-of-bed, scruffy type. Baseball cap, flannel shirt. Like Luke on Gilmore Girls."
- On being famous: "I could give a crap about being a star. I've always just wanted to sing and write."
- On never having been in love: "I know people probably think I've been heartbroken, because of the stuff I've sung and written. I love my friends and family. But I have never said the words "I love you' to anyone in a romantic relationship. Ever. I am very old-school, conservative in my thinking when it comes to relationships. Love is something you work at. It doesn't come easily. There are going to be bad days. You are going to have to work at loving someone when they are being an idiot. People think they're just going to meet the perfect guy. Don't be ridiculous."
- On being ambivalent about her success: "It is weird when a 12-year-old tells me I am their favorite artist. I'm always like, It's just because you're young and you haven't heard everybody yet. In time, I'll be weeded out. And that's cool. I know I'm a good singer, but I know who I am, too."
- On her bad qualities: "I tend to be early. I'm not patient. I have no tolerance for stupidity. I work too much. All my conversations revolve around my job. So I'm boring."
- On her childhood: "I had a really big issue with self-consciousness when I was young. I was highly emotional. I worried so much. For most of my childhood I was walking on eggshells trying to make everyone happy."
- On unflattering paparazzi shots: "I'm fine with it. I just don't care. I don't wear makeup in public. I don't worry about what I'm wearing. Hell, I wore pajamas in high school."
- On battling with record industry executives over the release of My December: "I've sold more than 15 million records worldwide, and still nobody listens to what I have to say. Because I'm 25 and a woman... My resistance upsets a lot of people, because we could make a lot of money. And I'm not hatin' on money. But you know in Funny Girl, when they make Barbara Streisand sing the "beautiful girl' song, and she is singing these lyrics and she knows she's not that person? I'm just not comfortable doing things that don't feel like me."
- On declining an offer of $10 million by Clive Davis to ditch five of her songs for more radio-friendly picks of his choosing: "I am a good singer, so I can't possible be a good writer. Women can't possibly be good at two things. I haven't lost my temper about it. It only drives me more. If your thing is to bring me down, cool. I'll just work harder."
- On refusing to talk about past relationships: "When it comes to certain parts of my life, I won't allow myself to be vulnerable at all. I have a lot of trust issues. Most people are like that, I think."
Kelly Clarkson Has Never Been In Love

Kelly Clarkson admitted to Elle Magazine that she has never been in love or even told a boyfriend that she loves them. MAN! I am the complete opposite. I tell the lady at Macy's I love her if she hooks me up with a coupon when I forget mine at home. :)
"I know people probably think I've been heartbroken, because of the stuff I've sung and written. I love my friends and my family. But I have never said the words 'I love you' to anyone in a romantic relationship. Ever."
"I am very old-school, conservative in my thinking when it comes to relationships. Love is something you work at. It doesn't come easily. There are going to be bad days. Preview Kelly Clarkson's New Album Online

AOL has Kelly Clarkson's My December album online ready for your review. Click here to check it out.
Kelly Clarkson became one of the biggest stars on the planet after the monstrous success of her 2004 album, 'Breakaway.' But there's been tons of controversy surrounding her new album, 'My December.' You love the first single, 'Never Again,' but will the rest of the songs be as strong? Now you can decide for yourself. Kelly gave us an exclusive preview of three more songs from the album -- which hits stores on June 26 -- and told us about the inspirations behind them. Does she have another hit on her hands?

Kelly Clarkson Opens Up About Irvine

Kelly Clarkson wrote one of the songs that is featured on her latest album, My December, in the bathroom of one of the venues from her last US tour. After her performance in Irvine, California, she was so heartbroken about a recent break up that she penned the tune named after the city.
"It was literally the lowest point I've had in my life... I was just so burned-out. I was really struggling at getting somebody out of my life and finding people that really cared. The whole song is a prayer. I wrote it in a bathroom of the venue after the show... It was just a really, really bad night."
If anyone can find the lyrics online, can you please post them. I tried to find them and couldn't. I'm curious to read it.
I Think That's Kelly Clarkson On Her CD Cover

Wow! Usually we see a close up of the artist's face on the cover of their cds. But I can barely make out whether or not this is Kelly Clarkson at all. Here is her 'My December' album cover.
