Lauren Graham Opens Up To More Magazine

After ending her run on TV’s Gilmore Girls, Lauren Graham reconnected with her personal life and branched out to Broadway as Adelaide in Guys and Dolls. Now that she’s starring in the new series Parenthood, Graham opened up about her new role, how she feels about being single and why she likes the word longevity in the new issue of More.
On getting older: “There’s a security in having had some longevity.” She scrunches up her nose. “Longevity? Makes me sound so old. But there is security in that. You learn as you get older. You learn to give yourself a break. I want to continue to celebrate where I am and not be apologetic. Whether I’m 43 or 60, I want to say, this is where I want to be in my life, because, hey, this is it.”
On being single in her 40s: “What is so funny to me is I’m in a profession where two percent of people are working, yet there’s still this implication that you’re not completely successful if you’re single and in your forties. Well, why not? I wanted a horse when I was growing up too. Does that mean I’m not successful, because I don’t have a horse?”
On dating: “I’ve only connected with people I met by accident,” she says with a laugh. “My first boyfriend in high school was the guy who sat in front of me, because, you know, alphabetically we were soul mates. I looked at the back of his head long enough that I was like, ‘I think I’m in love with you.’”
There's a lot more (including her take on Facebook). Click on the continue reading link below to read the rest of the interview.
On keeping an open mind: “At this point I would probably meet someone who had kids or whatever, and that’s totally interesting to me. My imagination about what I can still do with this life is endless.”

Celebrities Attend The NBC Universal Winter Press Tour Cocktail Party

Check out how many celebrities showed up for the NBC Universal Winter Press Tour cocktail party held at the Langham Huntington hotel in LA yesterday afternoon. Michelle Trachtenberg, Lauren Graham, Tori Spelling, Alison Sweeney, Yvonne Strahovski, Dean McDermott, Melanie Brown, Erika Christensen, Curtis Stone, Dax Shepard, Joel McHale, and Amy Poehler were just a FEW of them. I'm pretty sure they were contractually obligated to attend - but so what? Better for us right? :)
Looks like Dean hurt his arm as it was in a sling under his coat. However, if you look at the mesh - the reality tv actor still has a watch on. So perhaps it was just a slight sprain.
What shows are you looking forward to on NBC? Seeing all these pictures of Joel reminds me I need to catch up on Community! I've been saying for weeks I want to get into that show because I LOVE HIM on 'The Soup'.

Lauren Graham Confirmed For "Parenthood" Role

It's been confirmed that Lauren Graham has been cast in the new NBC show "Parenthood", in the role of Sarah, "one of the many siblings of the Braverman clan". She will be replacing Maura Tierney, who had to bow out of the role while she's undergoing treatment for breast cancer and the recovery following. I am a big fan of Maura and I'm sad that she is battling cancer and unable to do the show. But I'm sure Lauren will do an amazing job. Helen Hunt was reportedly in the running as well but it's rumored that talks fell through.
This is an amazing cast that they have lined up - some of them include: Peter Krause(Six Feet Under - one of my favorites!), Dax Sheppard, Monica Potter, Craig T. Nelson, and a lot of others!
Are you planning on tuning in when it starts mid-season?

Lauren Graham Talks About A Gilmore Girls Movie

Were you a Gilmore Girls fan? If so, have you missed Lauren Graham (Lorelai)? If so, then you're in luck, because Lauren talked to EW's Michael Ausiello about the possibility of a Gilmore Girls movie, her new role on Broadway, and her new ABC comedy. Unfortunately, a movie doesn't seem to be in the works.
Mike, Gilmore Girls is over. [Laughs] You've got to move on.
'It's hard. I don't know what we could give the fans that would satisfy
them...I
don't know what the story would be. But as with everything I do I my
career, if something comes up that inspires me, then
I'll consider it.'[Gilmore Girls] didn't end in the
way I think any of us would have liked -- and that is a disappointment
for me as well. And a sadness, really. When the reruns come on now
I think about the path it took, and it makes me sad. I wish we would
have known it was the end when we shot the final episode, quite simply.
But we can't go back and change that. And I'm not sure a movie would
help."
Are you a Gilmore Girls fan? What do you think of Lauren's (pretty honest, in my opinon) take on the whole situation?
Well, if you miss her and happen to be in New York City this spring, you can see Lauren sing on Broadway! She will be Miss Adelaide in the Guys and Dolls revival starting March 1. And if you can't make it there, she has signed on to do a comedy pilot for ABC. Read all about it in the EW interview here.
