Leona Lewis Slapped At Book Signing
How awful! At a book signing in London for her new autobiography, Dreams, Leona Lewis was attacked by a male "fan". She was about 90 minutes into a book signing event when it happened. I just can't imagine how frightening that was!
"Leona was the victim of an unprovoked attack this afternoon at her book signing," the star's rep said in a statement. "The police were called immediately and medical attention has been sought. Leona is understandably shaken and apologizes to the fans she was unable to meet and complete signings."
The police were called and they arrested the 29 year old man on suspicion of actual bodily harm. Hopefully the man gets some help.
I wonder if she'll feel comfortable continuing on with the press/signing tour for the book? I'd be a little freaked out.

Leona Lewis Uses Web Cameras To Keep Her Long Distance Relationship Alive
I can't imagine how difficult it must be for a celebrity to maintain a proper relationship. With their travel schedule, odds are date nights are kept to a minimum. Leona Lewis does what she can to keeps her long-distance relationship alive with web cameras.
The British songstress – who is living in Los Angeles while she works on new material – admits it is difficult to be apart from her boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa, who works in London, but keeps in touch online.
She explained to Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine:
“Obviously a long-distance relationship is hard. But, like anything worth having, you make it work. You just have to keep the communication open – we Skype, we chat, we email. And he comes out when he can. I don’t hate Los Angeles. There’s a very beautiful side to it – it’s scenic and I can go horse riding.
“When I first came out here I wasn’t sure if I like it. It’s taken a while because I love being at home with my family and I miss them when they’re not here.”
Despite gaining global stardom with her debut single ‘A Moment Like This’, Leona is still uncomfortable with being in the limelight.
“It’s not that I don’t like the celebrity lifestyle. It’s just that it’s a bit unreal. Some people embrace being papped. I’d rather do normal things.
“I’m quite quiet and it takes me a while to come out of myself and be comfortable. But just because I’m polite and nice doesn’t mean I can be pushed over. I know my own mind and I know what I will and won’t do. I just go about it in a different way. I’m not confrontational, but I will speak my mind.”
I love that term - being "papped". Think I might start using it. ;)
Have you ever used Skype? I've never checked it out but an ex-writer of mine (who recently quit to travel the world - Hi Kyle!) swears by it.

Leona Lewis' Cousin Has Been Jailed For 6 Years
Leona Lewis' cousin has been jailed for six years for his role in a brutal robbery.
Adrian Henry, 27, and two accomplices broke into a north London drug den where they viciously attacked three men before robbing them on the Easter long weekend in April.
There were no weapons used in the attack.
A neighbor called the police, who found Adrian hiding under a bush outside the property in Arsenal.
He pleaded guilty to robbery at Blackfriars Crown Court last week and was sentenced to six years in prison today.
Adrian's younger brother Erren, 20, was also allegedly arrested in conjunction with the robbery, but has yet to be tried or sentenced.
Leona is said to be close to both cousins, and has spoken publicly about their troubled lives in the past.

Leona Lewis Buys A Rabbit From Homeless Man
Leona Lewis saved a rabbit from becoming a homeless man’s dinner.
The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer – who is a strict vegetarian – was shopping in Los Angeles when she saw the man with a white bunny and asked him what he was going to do with the animal, he replied:
“Don’t know, probably eat it.”
Shocked Leona then asked him to sell the rabbit to her so she could save its life and gave him $100, which she told him to go and spend on some food.
A friend said:
“Leona is the proud owner of a new white rabbit called Melrose which she is keeping in her garden. She was shopping on Melrose Avenue last week when she spotted it being kept on a lead by a homeless man. She didn’t think life on a lead was any way for a rabbit to live – then when he said he was going to eat it she knew she had to save it.
“Now it has the run of her garden without the fear of being cooked for dinner.”
Leona - who is currently living in Los Angeles while she records her second album – is a huge animal rights supporter and last year turned down a $1.6 million offer from exclusive London store Harrods to open its summer sale because the store sold fur. WOWOWOWOWO! Now that is dedication!
