I was lucky enough to get invited to the press room for the CEW Beauty Awards. Each year Cosmetic Executive Women come out with their BEST OF THE BEST list. For you product junkies - here is the link for 2008. For everyone else, here is HOTTIE Marcus Schenkenberg!! I went alone so I couldn't get someone to take my picture with him. UGH!!!!!!!!!!! So upset about losing out on that opportunity. But as one would guess, that man is fine in person.

Each year, companies vie for the coveted Cosmetic Executive Women Beauty Award in 27 categories. The culmination of the Beauty Awards program, The Beauty Awards Luncheon is one of the most celebrated events of the year. Nearly 1300 beauty industry professionals gather the Waldorf=Astoria each spring to hear a star-studded dais announce the Beauty Award winners.

The videos are loud and noisy. But they are GREAT if you want to see what a press room looks and feels like!Mario Cantone was the host for the night and he was as vibrant and funny as you'd imagine. Lindsay Price also intended.

Beginning this Mother's Day, women across America will celebrate the 9th annual National Women's Health Week. Research shows that when women take care of themselves, the well-being of their entire family improves. When Lindsay Price started off her speech with that quote, I got goosebumps because it is so true. We are role models in every sense of the word. I cut my meat in a certain way and my daughter tries to do the same. We don't realize what sponges our younger counterparts can be. • When choosing beauty products, make sure they are multi-functioning. She was big on this. Her moisturizer also has antioxidants and her foundation has SPF. Guess which moisturizer she likes -- Neutrogena ! I was shocked. Clean and smart about their stuff. Finds it comparable to high end products. Especially likes their night time line.

• Jan Marinie - Age Intervention line and eyelash regrowth serum. I am seriously buying this to test it out.
  • "only thing that has every like really worked. Had to stop using it because they used to hit my sunglasses"
• Lipgloss junkie - have boxes and draws. Wouldn't tell me a specific name.
• She makes an effort to control her blood pressure and sugar levels by eating right and exercising. She admits to exercising at least 30 minutes a day.
• Deep breathing and mental relaxation techniques are also part of her life.
• 90210 FANS - Lindsay is OPEN to being involved in the movie. In fact, she is just waiting to be contacted. So movie execs, get on that! ;)
  • "If they asked me, I have such affection for that time in my life, I was a fan when I was on it. If it was something that interesting and cool, I think I would do it. "
• Typically doesn't wear make up when she isn't working.

I have so much to write! So much to say...
Lindsay Price is as nice as you think she is. It is so refreshing to see someone who has been in the business for so long that remained a decent person with a kind heart. I want to get my thoughts together and will put it all up for tomorrow as my children are literally bouncing off the walls as we speak. I have some / photo footage of Lindsay, Marcus Schenkenberg (the mega hottie) and Mario Cantone. I am debating about whether or not I should put a heart over my face with Lindsay because I have a little of the crazy eye going... was afraid of that.
A friend of mine snagged me a seat at Allure Magazine's Beauty Awards and BOY what a gift bag. The PR people invited me to attend the press junket, but didn't give me a seat for the actual show. On my way out, I ran into a friend who told me she just moved to another table and I could have her old spot. I couldn't stay too long because I left my children with my grandmother who is in her late 70s. Two kids all day would have been too much for her. But I was so happy to be there even for a short time. I will personally review every single product that was in the bag for my Beauty and Fashion section. That will take me some time as there is a TON.
One more thing before I end this post, did you know that when the unemployment rate goes UP so does the sale of lipstick? They opened the ceremony with that quote and I really found it interesting.
