I just keep thinking how strange it is for a movie to be this huge after the death of one of the starring actors. But, really, it's a tribute to Heath Ledger that Dark Knight has been SO insanely successful. Maggie Gyllenhaal thinks that he deserves an Oscar for the movie.
"Degree of difficulty should be incorporated into the award."
Can't argue with that one. And Maggie went on to say,
"To be that incredible in a movie that's this huge, that's about so many things, is really an accomplishment," she said. "In a way I feel funny thinking about the Oscars when he isn't alive, but at the same time I'm a member of the Academy and I would vote for him."
On his performance she added,
"In order to be a good actor you have to find a place where you are free, but it's very unusual to be absolutely free in the way that he was in this movie It was inspiring working with him."
Heath even has fans campaigning for him. So who knows, maybe the Academy will take notice. Do you think Heath should get an Oscar for his role as the Joker?
Maggie Gyllenhaal refuses to give into the media circus that follows when you become a celebrity. In fact, the actress says she won't read any articles or look at any pictures taken of her in order to maintain her sanity. I think it's great that she is strong enough to avoid. I wouldn't be able to do the same. What is it they say about curiosity?:)
"The amount of scrutiny can be unbearable. It’s sometimes really hurtful. I’ve decided, in order to protect myself, that I’m not going to look at any pictures (of myself) or to pay attention to anything anyone says about me."

Maggie Gyllenhaal was photographed arriving to "The Late Show With David Letterman" wearing a 1930's black vintage dress and head band. Maggie is known for being non-traditional with her clothing style. She brings something different to every event she attends. What do you think about her choice?

Maggie Gyllenhaal looked pretty fantastic as she arrived to the New York premiere of, "The Dark Knight" last night. Maggie doesn't always pick the best fitting dresses, but I think this one is darn near perfect. Even the interesting floral pattern is nice. What do you all think of it?

Wait 'til you have two! :)
Maggie Gyllenhaal says that in order for her to accept a movie role, it has to be REALLY GOOD. Otherwise, nothing is separating her from little Ramona.
"I do think that it’s really difficult to get me away from (Ramona). It’s difficult to find a script that’s good enough for me to think, ‘Okay, I really need to do this instead of being with my daughter.’"
Speaking of becoming a mom for the first time, she adds:
"I think having a child changes everything and has deepened everything in my life. I never knew that I could be so tired. I never knew that I could work so hard. I never knew that I could love so much or be so patient or be so excited by the tiniest, tiniest little thing. Everything about it has surprised me."

Maggie Gyllenhaaal, Peter Sarsgaard and their adorable daughter Ramona enjoyed a sunny afternoon in Venice, California yesterday. Since, The Dark Knight is set to release soon, I imagine we'll be seeing a lot more of Maggie and her family. Have to admit I am EXTREMELY excited about the new Batman movie. Christian Bale owns a little piece of my heart.

You get a two for one deal today. :) Both Maggie Gyllenhaal and Naomi Campbell arrived to the CFDA Fashion Awards in NYC in a sort of fashion forward, dressier version of the MC Hammer pant. I think it's only fair that we figure out who looks better and if these pants should stay in the 90's where they belong, or make a comeback. Your thoughts?
