Mandy Moore Has No Desire To Be A Swizzle Stick

Mandy Moore Has No Desire To Be A Swizzle Stick

Mandy Moore isn’t a size zero because she’s “not 14 anymore”.
The 'I Wanna Be With You' singer is trying to embrace her "womanly curves", but can't help being disappointed when she looks in a full-length mirror.

"I'm not a swizzle stick – I'm not 14 anymore.
"I appreciate when there are other women out there who are beautiful and aren't, you know, a pound. I feel lucky that I don't feel pressure to have my whole life be controlled by whether I fit into a certain size."

Despite being happy with her size, Mandy – who married alternative rocker Ryan Adams in March – isn’t a fan of certain parts of her body.

“I still have a love-hate relationship with my hips.”

Preaching to the choir Mandy...speaking to the choir.

The singer– whose new album 'Amanda Leigh' is due to be released later this year – insists even celebrities don't look good all the time.
She explained to People magazine:

"When you're a star, you have professionals who make you look a certain way. I can't roll out of bed and look that way.
I'm very comfortable with the way that I look, but it's not fair for women to use someone or something as a bar. It's not reality, for anyone. I am happy to be myself and represent something different for women."

What part of your body do you have a love-hate relationship with?

Mandy Moore Talks Music And Marriage

Mandy Moore Talks Music And Marriage

How could anyone not love Mandy Moore? She is so sweet and unaffected. I really love how she seems to live life doing her own thing and not worrying about what Hollywood thinks. She recently opened a little about her music career and her love life. Check out the quotes below!

On the pop artists of the 90's.

We got grouped together for obvious reasons, but I was slightly younger
than all of them, and I felt like the nerdy outcast, the little sister,
if you will,” she says. “Like, ’N Sync and the Backstreet Boys—I got to
open up for them. But still, I was a kid. I went from watching them on TRL
to six months later being on the road opening up for them in front of,
you know, tens of thousands of people. I doubt they even remember I was
on the road with them, seriously!

On her early work:

“I’m not trying to consciously get away from it,” Moore says
of her early work. “I’m just … it was ten years ago. I’ve grown up.
When I think back on that time, it’s like, Ack! I was a kid. I had no say creatively in anything that was going on. I was just happy to be along for the ride.”

On the paparazzi fascination with her marriage to Ryan Adams:

“I guess I can understand the interest. It’s a really exciting time. I
still can’t get over it. It’s lovely. It’s just …
lovely.”

On her own way of doing thing:

“I’m a timid person, and I’m also a perfectionist, so I really like to
take my time with things. But sometimes you’ve just got
to … I don’t know, put yourself out there and be a little bit
uncomfortable and get over it. Even if you fall on your face.”

Mandy Moore In Details Magazine

Mandy Moore In Details Magazine

Mandy Moore turns up the heat in her new photo shoot for Details Magazine. She slips under the radar since she doesn't have a ton of new projects, but every time I see her I remember how much I love her! She's gorgeous and somehow has seemed to stay real throughout the years. Here are a few quotes from her most recent interview.

On the style of her music back in the day:

“I
found myself in the company of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera,
who had really quality music, much more so than mine was.
I'm sure there are people scratching their heads, going 'Wow, how is she still around?'"

On her music now:

“The music is all a reflection of me now, not somebody else’s choices. If people don't like the music, then they don't like me—and that's quite all right."

On being germaphobic:

“I’m
a germ-phobe when I meet a lot of people or shake a lot of hands.  I
always have hand sanitizer and alcohol swabs so I can sort of go back
and forth between the two.”

While her current music hasn't had as much commercial success as her older pop stuff, it must be so freeing for Mandy to not worry anymore about what people think. Like she said, take it or leave, she doesn't care. That being said, it would be great to see her back on the charts with another big hit, I love her voice!

Celebrities Attend The Launch Of Latisse

Celebrities Attend The Launch Of Latisse

Brooke Shields, Mandy Moore, Angie Harmon, Jewel, and Marisa Tomei all attended the launch party for 'Latisse' in LA yesterday afternoon. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Can we TALK about this PRODUCT!?

It's the first FDA approved lash grower and I am extremely interested! It's by prescription only so we all can't run to our local drug store and start shopping.

But I have to ask, who is going to try it out?

Latisse's website has some amazing before and after pictures in case you need more proof that it actually works.

Mandy Moore's New Cover For Amanda Leigh Revealed

Mandy Moore's New Cover For Amanda Leigh Revealed

Due to release May 26, MandyMoore.com has officially released the look of the singer's upcoming album. What do you think of the cover for Amanda Leigh? She looks great doesn't she?!

If you want, you can pre-order the album from iTunes or hear a sample of her music online. Click here to visit.

Mandy also put up her first blog entry on the new site and talked about putting together a band for show appearances. Here is an excerpt:

We're also in the process of putting a band together for some shows, TV appearances, online "things" and what have you... I am just beyond ready to for this record to find it's way out in the world. Viola and I will be doing some acoustic gigs in the coming weeks but the band is definitely going to be the focus, with a plan to hopefully tour late summer.

The song, "I Could Break Your Heart Any Day Of The Week" is coming out tomorrow (March 17) on iTunes. It's definitely a pop-ditty but more in vein of Todd Rundgren or Harry Nilsson than the typical fare the word "pop" tends to conjure up . Later this week, we're making what we hope will be a pretty amazing video with my ever-creative friend David Schlussel. He came up with the crazy concept and will be at the helm of all of the chaos (thank goodness....i've wanted to work with him for a long time). I'll be sure to keep you updated once it's in the can.

Will you purchase this album? Are you a Mandy Moore fan? I've also added her to my list of celebrities who Twitter because... well, she twitters.
