Mel Gibson Is A Great Dad
Mel Gibson is an “incredible” and “hands-on” father to his new baby daughter.
The actor – whose girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva gave birth to Lucia Anne on October 30 - has been praised for his excellent parenting skills despite only spending three days with his newborn because of work commitments. Oksana revealed:
“Mel’s very hands-on. He was amazing while he was here for a short visit. He has been very doting and nurturing. He is incredible with children, very kind.
“He’s an amazing person and he treats everybody equally. That’s what I know. I know him as a very kind and generous person, embracing his friends and family. He’s tremendous as a dad, unbelievable.
“He’s ecstatic. He is very much in love with her already. She just wins people’s hearts, she’s so beautiful and tiny.”
The 53-year-old actor was forced to take a break from his upcoming film ‘The Beaver’ as he rushed to Los Angeles to be at Oksana’s hospital side when she went into labor a month early.
Although he missed the birth, he arrived a few hours later and spent three days with his new family before returning to the film set last Monday. Oksana explained to Britain’s Hello! magazine:
“I was at home then I got rushed into hospital and, eight hours later, I could look at her beautiful face. Mel came just a few hours later because he had to fly from New York.”
Russian singer Oksana also admitted their relationship is still going strong.
“We’ve always been very spiritually connected and emotionally, too. We’ve always been very close.
“Having children is an overwhelming feeling, beautiful.”
The 'Braveheart' star already has six sons and a daughter with former wife Robyn - who filed for divorce in April this year after 28 years of marriage - while Oskana has a 12-year-old son Alexander with actor Timothy Dalton.
Mel Gibson Names His Daughter Lucia
Mel Gibson has named his new child. The ‘What Women Want’ star - whose girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva gave birth on Friday – has announced the couple plan to call the infant Lucia. A representative for Mel confirmed:
"Oksana Grigorieva and Mel Gibson welcomed the arrival of a baby girl named Lucia on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles."
Mel, 53, took a break from filming ‘The Beaver’ while Oksana was in hospital and was given a warm welcome when he returned to the set on Monday. A source on set said:
"Everyone sang 'For He's A Jolly Good Fellow' and he blushed."
A friend added:
"Everything is great! They couldn't be happier. Everyone's healthy and thrilled. He loves it!"
Wonder if their other children have met Lucia yet?
Mel Gibson Welcomes His Eight Child
Mel Gibson has become a father for the eighth time. The ‘Lethal Weapon’ actor’s girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva gave birth to a baby girl on Friday and both mother and daughter are said to be doing well.
The baby – whose name is yet to be revealed – was due in December.
Mel already has seven children with his estranged wife Robyn, while Oksana has a son, Alexander, with former boyfriend Timothy Dalton.
In September, Oksana spoke of her excitement at becoming a mother again.
"I have a 12-year-old, so I've been a mother for 12 years – and of course, there is no first time mother's trepidation as such. So naturally it's more relaxed, and I'm very dynamic so the pregnancy falls into my work schedule."
Falls into her "work schedule"? Well, I guess that worked out then.
Congrats to the happy couple.

Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson Film 'The Beaver'
Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson were snapped on the set of their new movie The Beaver, a comedy/drama set to release in 2011.
A guy walks around with a puppet of a beaver on his hand and treats it like a living creature.
Sounds, uh...different. LOL!
According to IMDB, Steve Carell and Jim Carrey were both previously attached to play the lead before it went to Mel. I'm pretty happy to see Mel return to a more comedic role - I loved that side of him in the Lethal Weapon movies. And I love Jodie in a comedy role, too - her character was a riot in Nim's Island. It's rare for an actor/actress to be able to pull off both comedy and drama but these two are great at it! Jodie is also directing this movie.

Mel Gibson And Girlfriend Have No Plans To Wed
This is one of those pairings that seemed to happen so fast, I'm still reeling a little. Mel Gibson and his girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, have no plans to marry, either before or after she gives birth to their child, which is due in December.
"Actually we have no plans to marry whatsoever," she told the [British] morning show GMTV. "I haven't thought about it – we haven't spoken about it."
"I have a 12 year old, so I've been a mother for 12 years – and of course, there is no first time mother's trepidation as such," Grigorieva said. "So naturally it's more relaxed, and I'm very dynamic so the pregnancy falls into my work schedule."
Mel and his first wife were married for 30 years, and they only filed for divorce in April, so I can see where he may not be in a huge rush to head down the aisle. Well, between Oksana's 12-year-old and Mel's seven children with his first wife, this baby will have no shortage of older siblings to look out for her/him!

Mel Gibson And Jodie Foster Team Up For Beaver
Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster are teaming up once again for the big screen. It's been 15 years since the two actors have worked alongside one another and now E! News is confirming the actors have signed up for 'The Beaver'.
A quirky comedy drama along the lines of 2007's indie hit Lars and the Real Girl (or, depending on your humor, South Park), the Kyle Killen-penned script follows a down-and-out man (Gibson) who finds comfort wearing a beaver hand puppet. Foster will not only play his wife, but she'll also helm the film, marking her first directing effort since 1995's Home for the Holidays.
Sounds... interesting! :)
The only reason why I would even give this one a shot is because Jodie doesn't do just any movie. It seems she waits until something feels right.

No, there's no trouble in paradise. Mel Gibson is just trying to do the right thing by his pregnant girlfriend's other child, Alexander.
