Alec Baldwin Went Nude For Meryl Streep
But it was in the name of art! '30 Rock' star Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep star in the film 'It's Complicated,' which is about a divorced couple that rekindles their relationship (kinda) when they see each other for their son's college graduation.
"When you do a movie that you like or you're hopeful about, you'll go to any lengths if it seems right. And I was taking my clothes off for her," he says, pointing to Streep. "Not for you, the public. Big difference."
Although Alec reportedly shows a lot of skin in the film, he did have some, um, assistance.
"The guy who was my a** double, he worked on 30 Rock one day and he dined out on it the whole week. He showed up and told everybody, 'I was Alec’s a** double.' It's a sick business."
Acting is certainly a different business- LOL. Alec said he would be willing to show himself on screen: for the right price.
"You gotta pay me a lot of money," he says.
Fair enough! Meanwhile, Meryl is fine with not having done any nudity for the film.
"I don't think if we had romped through half of this movie completely naked it would have added to the film. It’s about the intimacy of marriage and the comfort and the mess of it. It felt like what we did was exactly right."

Meryl Streep Attends The 4th International Rome Film Festival For 'Julie & Julia'
Meryl Streep attended the 'Julie & Julia' press conference at the 4th International Rome Film Festival yesterday afternoon. The actress admitted that although she played a seasoned cook in the movie, she's nothing like the famed chef at home.
"I cook OK. I cook every night, so every night is not great. Every night is OK."
Streep said she also can't match Child's dexterity with knives.
"I am really not that adept a cook as she was, especially with that rapid-fire knife," she said. "If I did that in my kitchen everybody would run because there would be a lot of blood probably."
I've started to notice that people are expecting actors to really relate to the characters they play in movies these days. I was at an event with a few "mommy bloggers" and some were actually protesting Uma Thurman's new movie, 'Motherhood' because the actress admitted she never read a "mommy blog" before. They really caught me by surprise because I just don't share their opinion. I don't need the actors to have some official connection to the storyline. I just need them to ACT like they do on the screen.

Meryl Streep Thought Mashed Potatoes Came In A Box
Funniest quote ever!
Meryl Streep didn’t know what mashed potatoes were as a child.
The actress – who plays celebrated TV chef Julia Childs in new movie ‘Julie and Julia’ – admits her upbringing was filled with convenience foods and she was left bemused when she saw her neighbor cooking one day.
She said:
“I remember when I was 10 years old, going to a neighbor’s house and she and her mother were sitting at the kitchen table with what looked like tennis balls and I asked what they were doing. She told me they were making mashed potatoes and I said, ‘What do you mean? Mashed potatoes come in a box!’ ”
LOLOLOLOL!!
Meryl – who has been married to sculptor Don Gummer for 30 years -admits her culinary skills have improved over time, but she remains unrepentant if she ever gets a dish wrong.
She explained:
“My husband is amazing because he just likes everything I make. There’s nothing better than when you are a little disappointed in what you’ve tried that he doesn’t notice that it didn’t turn out so good.
“But I don’t make excuses. That’s another thing Julia taught me - don’t apologize, because it always makes it taste worse. If they didn’t notice it was bad, then shut up!”
I absolutely do that and it's a terrible TERRIBLE habit. Good tip Meryl!

The Premiere Of 'Julie And Julia'
The LA premiere of the upcoming film 'Julie & Julia' was held last night. Although both Meryl Streep and Amy Adams looked amazing on the red carpet (and I can't wait to see them in 'Julie & Julia'!), I think some of the celebrity attendees (and their footwear) may have stolen the show!
'24' star Mary Lynn Rajskub looks amazing, doesn't she? I know she's the buttoned-up computer whiz on the show, but I don't think I've ever seen her look this good.
'Chuck' star Yvonne Strahovski always looks good, however. It looks like she took a different red-carpet approach, forgoing white or something more summer-like. What do you think of her shoes?
And what do you think of 'Twilight' star Ashely Greene's shoes? Those strappy heels look very trendy- not to mention tortuous ;)

Meryl Streep And Amy Adams Talk About Gaining Weight For Julie And Julia
Meryl Streep and Amy Adams piled on the pounds while shooting 'Julie and Julia'.
The 'Doubt' co-stars reunited for the forthcoming film - which is about world-famous chef Julia Child and writer Julie Powell, who challenged herself to cook Julia's recipes - and admit the amount of food they had to eat for their roles wasn't good for their waistlines.
Meryl said:
"I gained 15 pounds - I'm still trying to lose it! It was worth it."
Amy added:
"I ate a lot! Cooking is like love - it should be approached with abandon."
The actresses were unable to escape gaining weight as they were ordered to enjoy the food featured in the scenes by director Nora Ephron.
Nora revealed:
"That's one of the things I said in rehearsal. Everyone has to eat in the scenes, and everyone really went for it."
Now THAT'S my kind of movie! While I won't go to the theatre for this one because I like to reserve baby sitter days for high budget films where things blow up, I will most certainly rent this. I adore Julia Child and cooking in general.

Who Earned More: Angelina Jolie Or Jennifer Aniston?
Something tells me Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston will be compared until they retire and leave the public eye. Which I suspect won't happen for a very long time. Well, thanks to Forbes annual "Hollywood's Top Earning Actresses" we can compare Angelina and Jennifer on one more front: who earned more money in the last year?
Angelina: she reportedly earned $27 million last year while Jennifer earned $25 million. Something tells me Jennifer will have no trouble consoling herself with $25 million.
Meryl Streep was the third-highest paid actress with $24 million.
Sarah Jessica Parker came in at #4 with a $23 million paycheck, and Cameron Diaz was fifth with $20 million.
Acting certainly does pay well when you're at the top of your profession!

Tim Gunn Offers Fashion Advice To Meryl Streep
FIrst of all, I just want to say how I LOVED having Tim Gunn on the red carpet last night for the 81st Academy Awards. He actually knew what he was talking about!
Ok, now that I got that out of the way - read what he said about Meryl Streep!!
"I am her biggest fan and I can’t get enough of her, but… ‘Meryl Streep, you need to accept responsibility for what you are wearing.’ "She is so smart, so stunning, and she has a great figure.
"Sometimes she gets it right, but more often she doesn’t. The message she’s sending is, ‘I’m too smart for this and it doesn’t matter to me what I’m wearing.’ I want to say to her that it should matter to you."
Timm says Meryl should look at Angelina Jolie for tips.
"She’s one who knows her body, understands how important silhouetted proportion is and getting your look right is. She always has a great fit. She’s age appropriate and she’s context appropriate. She has a sophistication yet a sexiness and she has a consistent polish."
I'm pretty sure Meryl doesn't care what Tim says, but let's take a vote anyway.
